They don’t really look alike, but that’s who Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said on a taping of Live! With Kelly And Michael today he’d like to see play him on the big screen. After noting that Hackman, who has played a couple of presidents in his career, would make a good Mitt,
Romney said Michelle Pfeiffer should be cast as his wife Ann. In a pre-taped segment to be aired September 18, Romney and his wife got personal and pop culture with Live! hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan, with topics including Jersey Shore‘s Snooki and the Kardashians. Ann Romney reiterated that ABC’s Modern Family is the couple’s favorite TV show. (The Romneys were mocked by the show’s creator Steve Levitan via Twitter last month when Ann first said how much she liked the show — the GOP candidate is opposed to gay marriage, a major theme in the series.)

Isn’t Gene Hackman retired? He’s also at least 10 years older than Mittens. :/
At 82 years old, Hackman may be a bit too youthful to pull off a convincing Mitt Romney.
Hackman did do a good job with Lex Luther, which is basically the same as Romney.
Nah. Lex Luther had a personality, and an actual agenda he didn’t change depending on who he was trying to gain favor with that day.
Mitt, how dare you besmirch the beautiful Ms. Pfeiffer with an Ann Romney comparison?!
Senator Keeley from The Birdcage anyone?
The wonderful Hackman already played an empty-headed Republican in The Birdcage.
The Romneys were mocked by the show’s creator Steve Levitan via Twitter last month when Ann first said how much she liked the show —
One would think if he really cared about the cause, he would say I would love to sit down and talk to the Rommeys instead of being a crass twitter bully.
Considering the Romneys say what they think they have to to appease their base, and don’t have any actual values-based opinions on the topic, I expect Levitan didn’t feel like wasting his time.
I always thought Patrick Bateman version of Christian Bale would be perfect to portrait Romney. A person who is impossible to emote with others.
This guy doesn’t even have a sense of reality when it comes to stupid questions.
Just show Willard American Psycho and he’ll realize Justin Theroux was born to play him. This needs to happen.
More like Fred Willard and Jane Lynch
Brilliant…
Why mock her because she’s a fan of this show ? Maybe she is pro-gay marriage but her husband isn’t ? People have different opinions, even inside a couple !
Gay marriage is a major theme of the show? I don’t think so. Isn’t it set in California? I don’t remember Cam and Mitchell doing any picketing or anything for Prop 8. I don’t think they’ve even talked about getting married. You can be gay and not all about gay marriage. Just ask me!
Hey, remember when Obama was against gay marriage too? It was only about 4 months ago. Was he ‘human garbage’ then too, as Sarah Silverman would say?
Who knows what either person’s real opinion is.
How about Jim Carrey?
