The Oprah Winfrey Network is bringing some old friends to its schedule. OWN had bought the exclusive cable rights to both Rachael Ray and The Nate Berkus Show. “Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup. It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air,” said OWN president Erik Logan. Starting at 9 AM on September 10, the network will broadcast two episodes of each show back-to-back. Both shows are already part of Oprah’s empire. Winfrey’s Harpo Studios is one of the producers of Rachael Ray, along with CBS Television Distribution, Watch Entertainment and Scripps Network. The show debuted in syndication in 2006. Harpo Studios was also one of the production companies, along with Sony Pictures Television, behind The Nate Berkus Show. A spin-off of Oprah’s talk show, the syndicated Nate Berkus Show ran from September 13 2010 to May 24, 2012 before being cancelled. Reruns are still on the air until September 7. OWN, which is a owned by Harpo and Discovery Communications, acquired Rachael Ray from CBS Television Distribution and Nate Berkus from Harpo Studios. OWN will show episodes from the first five seasons of Rachael Ray and the two seasons of Nate Berkus. The network presently re-airs Dr. Phil, which also is produced by Harpo Studios, as well as Oprah’s Lifeclass and Oprah’s Next Chapter, which are currently produced by Harpo.

I would love to see OWN pick up older talk shows and give them new wrap arounds with the hosts. It would be great to see some old Phil Donahue episodes with updates on guests and his opinions. Same with Sally Jessie Raphael and others.

Having worked in daytime talk, any of the ‘regular people’ are going to be very hard to reach. A lot of them are hard to reach the week of the taping…and in those days, I doubt there were computers; even in the mid90s we had everything on paper.

Nate’s awesome!!! So talented…. Hope he gets royalties….. Wish he was doing home makeovers still (cause i desperately need one). I can appreciate someone that helps other live comfortably in their home. You seem bitter, God awful? Really?? I really agree with you. We seem to be in Talk Show mentality where we watch several people trying to outshout one another with their own opinions. Reminds me of high school where everyone talked at once thinking their opinion is the only one with any value. Nate’s show at least had solutions to problems most adults face in making their homes a welcome place to be. He not only showed us how to decorate, but how to do it without spending much money. In this economy, that is very welcome advise. And he was the ONLY one who really had the audience in mind and not the money the decision makers could bring in. “The LOVE of money?” To bad!!

I love the OWN network.I love Nate and all his shows,I have learned so much from him.He is a true honest person with a big heart..We need more people like him.That cute little squinty smile he gives is awesome.Next favorite is Rachael Ray-love her too.THANKS OPRAH AND OWN for picking up my two favorite shows. I would like to see OWN pick up the Ruby Gettinger story. She is still on her journey. Oprah, and many of her viewers, including myself; have had issues with their weight over the years. So I would think it would be good to see Ruby working on her weight and emotional issues. I think she is an inspiration.
I think Nate is awesome and I will miss his show. As for OWN I wish I could afford cable so I could watch that network.I tell you there is just no accounting for bad taste.
I am reponding to the “person” who said Nate was god awful and it is one more reason not to watch the OWN network..obviously you are not a person who cares to improve your life or to make this world a better place or you wouldnt say such a negative thing. The OWn network is probably above yoyr simple understanding. Yeah, like thats what OWN needs – more reruns- so is it going to be a network of old repeat (untimely) talk s hows? Old Oprah, Dr Phil, Rachael, Nate shows – all Harpo productions. In my city, Rachael has really lost a lot with the new talk show entrants. She went from 2pm on NBC to 8a on the CW. YIKES

You are so right!!!!! To bring life into OWN Oprah needs the soaps. Her core audience was daytime women viewers. Although I work everyday, I was an avid Viewer [DVR] of the soaps and Oprah. She can bring All My Children back as a weekly Primetime Drama. just bring them back!!

I can’t think of anything I would watch less than reruns of old talk shows?? Oprah could have brought millions of loyal viewers to her network by bringing the soaps. And I do emphasize loyal. Have never watched her network and still don’t have a reason to.

The Nate Show helped me get up in the AM too! Loved his make-overs and low cost suggestions for home design! He will be missed! Can’t we have any say in TV programming by complaining that we want another year or two of him!! He was onformative and nice to look at too!

i love Steve Harvey. I miss Nate. Totally different shows. Both exceptional. Oprah is a genius. To the man who said he had a bridge to sell her. She could afford to buy a dozen of them and turn them into GOLD. Get real.
Back to Nate. If he has another show i need his help. i had a small mobile home with loads of storage and now I bought a big house with no storage. Where do i put stuff. I have one livingroom set and 2 livingrooms. 3 bedrooms and 1 bedroom set. I bought 2 beautiful old cabinets from the thrift store but dont know how to finish them. Or where to put them.
i was great with small spaces but not so good with large. After buying my big house there was no money to decorate or fill it.
How do i get Nate’s help now?????
Whose ridiculous idea was it to cancel Nate Berkus? He was the best thing OWN ever presented and I will miss him terribly. He is such a good hearted, talented man and as known so much sadness in his young life (the loss of his love, etc.) and now this. I love Nate Berkus and I wish him well. I picked up so many great ideas to recycle old furniture, add interesting design elements and create one-of-a-kind pieces.
Ever since OWN came on it has continually shown reruns. Own needs to develop and provide new programming. Network will not be successful on steady flow of reruns.

You’re better off than some of us. WE got Ricki Lake instead of Nate. He was one of the only reasons I still watched NBC. EVER. I miss him so much. They COULD, at the very least, left the Nate Show website up so we could have access still to all of the stuff that was there. So many bad decisions being made by the networks these days. ESPECIALLY NBC. It looks like they are purposely burying themselves.

I am getting so disgusted with the decisions being made on TV anymore! Thay are only catering to the 18 – 35 crowd. All the reality shows are so much “BS”. It shows the lack of imagination and intelligence in so many of the younger generation. VERY disappoined that the Nate Berkus show was cancelled. His show was uplifting, great ideas, not everybody can afford expensive decorators, there are a lot uf us that don’t have a six figure income. And REALLY, how many times are they going to throw Rikki Lake at us, and she replaced NATE?? WOW!! One more Kardashian, Survivor and the likes, no wonder networks are loosing money. At least you can still read books, Kindle or whatever, to stimulate your mind.These kids now days couldn’t think there way out of a box, even with directions!
I hate to see Nate moving to a cable station. I want to see him back on network TV where budget living is a fact of life. Paying for a bunch of nonsense television, Oprah did you forget your roots or was it always about the money?
Why in the world did they cancel the Nate Show? I have to turn off most of the TV shows because all they do is Talk BORE me. I want the Nate Show back on network TV because I do not have cable and this is one show I watched every day because it had REAL CONTENT!.

I agree with so many others. I was so angry when I heard Nate Berkus was cancelled. WHY! I loved that show. And why is Oprah only showing reruns of his show? That’s all we’ve seen all summer is reruns. Please bring him back with new shows. It appears many of us would watch. Our local ABC station has lost a viewer in The Nate Berkus Show time slot.
I had a spine surgery back in May of this year 2012 to enable me to be able to sit.I havn’t been able to sit for just on 2 years.I am not what you call a day time TV person but during this journey of recovery, I descovered The Nate Berkus Show.
I Loved Nate’s Show.When I heard they were closing his show, I literaly felt very depressed. Nate your show is what has kept be going.Your makeovers & all your ideas is what gave me such hope, as I am a person who likes to make new out of old. I need you back & I know that so does all of America need you back.

Iam extremely saddened and angered by the cancellation of the Nate Bergus Show. That is the only program I watched other than news. I can’t watch OWN since I don’t have Cable TV. I’m not at all happy with this decision. Nate has great design ideas that can be used by anyone.
We liked and watched it every day, could not believe they took it off the air. Hope he gets back on soon.

I can’t believe the The Nate Show is gone. Over the years our family has gone through a great deal financially and The Nate Show helped us to keep things simple. Downsizing and repurposing has been our new way of life. My life has changed and has allowed me to help others do the same. Cable is not a option for many people and having the The Nate Show helps those to move forward. Oprah is out and moved on, lets keep Nate here. My heart is behind you Nate. Come back to the people.
