Never one for subtlety, Samuel L. Jackson is front and center in a pro-President Obama and anti-Mitt Romney spot that is a takeoff on Sam’s narration of the bedtime tale Go The F___ To Sleep, the one that became a big viral hit. According to the New York Post, the political spot was done in concert with a PAC called the Jewish Council for Research and Education, funded mostly by George Soros’ 25-year-old son Alexander. There are a lot of Hollywood heavyweights behind Obama, but I doubt anybody will make as much noise as Jackson does here, particularly if this spreads virally the way his last bedtime story did. Maybe Romney better get Clint Eastwood on the phone for a counter:

there are mother*ucking snakes on mother*ucking air force one.

OUTSTANDING!!!
Both parties suck and both parties support laws that go against the well-being of the average citizen of this nation. You celebs (Jackson) have a natural platform from which to opine on the world around you and people will listen, but unfortunately everytime one of you big-shots opens your mouth, rarely does anything of value come out of it. Movie stars, I’m afraid, have proven themselves (time and time again) to be the least equipped to speak intelligently on most subject matter of real importance.
Clint Eastwood. Q.E.D.
Absolutely right “Together TV”. Look at Ronald Reagan.
Very well said. Both the Ob and newtromnecain are dumb as dirt and useless globalists. Guilty of treason! So the question is Are there enough of us “the fuck” awake to put a stop to this absurd foolishness?
My answer: vote third party because the one we have ain’t worth a shit
Good idea Mitt,
Ha! Made me bust out laughing, especially the little girl at the end! I think he spoke pretty clear! Yes, outstanding indeed! Obama 2012!
And this about says it all. Getting little girls to use profanity to get himself elected. Shame, shame, shame. Robinhodd mentality. Take from the rich, give to the poor and let the poor lift you up on their shoulders and march you around town. But the truth is Robinhood was a thief and the Sheriff of Nottingham was the good guy.
I love that, it should be the official Republican mantra: Robin Hood was a thief, Sheriff of Nottingham was the good guy.
Lol Really?? Have you ever read or seen Robin Hood?
“Snakes” Jackson just lost half his fans.
Sure he did. And when he’s in the next billion dollar blockbuster (Avengers 2 most likely), I’m sure he’ll be weeping at all the “fans” you say he supposedly lost. Ridiculous.
Samuel L. Jackson should stick to acting and stay away from politics. He even said in an interview that he voted for Obama because he was black. Sounds like a smart guy who is in touch with with the average American who is being affected by this economy. I’m not voting for anyone who considers the death of an ambassador and what’s going on by Israel just “noise” ad “bumps in the road”. It’s time for a real change! ROMNEY 2012!
His fee is 1m per film. Studio, indy, direct to dvd, whatever… 1mm.
You pay him, he shows up. Ask Brad Krevoy.
He is not affected, at all, by the economy.
We can consider you the typical sheeple!!!
This is funny.
Conservatives will trash it, especially the segment of the young girl at the end using the f word.
Expect a similar video with Chuck Norris, Patricia Heaton and Mike Rowe soon……
Mike didn’t and wouldn’t actually endorse Romney.
He just stood on the stage with him.
Agree! This is funny and SO Samuel L. Jackson. He’s going to be who he is and I happen to agree, any effort to help “wake the_uck up” of any apathetics out there is worth the time. BTW, did you guys see the Chuck Norris ad about the “thousand years of darkness” Obama will bring if reelected??? COME on, that is a moronic statement, isn’t it, based on NOTHING? Everybody…WAKE THE _UCK UP!….and at the very least, get out there and VOTE.
Irony at it’s finest – Jackson is doing a pro-Obama spot in conjunction with an alleged Jewish advocacy group “…funded mostly by George Soros’ 25-year-old son Alexander.” George Soros earned his first nickel by collaborating with the Nazis and turning over Jewish families in hiding to them – and their Christian helpers. This is like having the KKK funding a civil rights group – and using a black man as their spokestoken. Jackson better look at which snakes he wants to be in bed with.
Okay, right wing nut jobs…you can go back under your rocks.
Is Robbie right or wrong, DL? Did Soros collaborate with the Nazis??
If people woke the f*** up, Obama wouldn’t be getting their vote.
I think you have it backwards. If people woke the fuck up, not a single Republican would hold elective office anywhere in the country come November.
Dbag material. Nice.
Exactly.
This was beautiful.
Love Samuel L. Jackson…but it’s the last scene of Spike Lee’s “School Daze” X the last scene of “Vanilla Sky.” (“David…open your eyes”) inserted into Obama’s own children’s book just after Obama himself said that after his presidency he would like to work with children. This time everybody is wary and too depressed about their future to get worked up about Obama’s promises almost four years ago. They feel burned. Maybe Obama can be a law professor at the school that Will Smith’s kids go to where “robotics” is part of the curriculum. As for this election…the fact checkers are exhausted and are going to need and deserve a long vacation. And that’s both sides of the equation.
Don’t put the blame on the President for the mess that this country is in. Blame the members of Congress that are bought and paid for by big corporations and the financial institutions. Try and tell me the difference between a political contribution and a bribe. You may ask why the media hasn’t pushed on this fact. Who owns the media?
What’s the answer; term limits! One term and your out. Limit the amount that can be spent and how long you can campaign.
When does the American Spring arrive?
If enough people see this video, it will result in either fewer votes for Obama, or more votes with Romney.
Sure it will dude
, It doesn’t matter in the end, Romney isn’t going to get anywhere near Ohio or Florida with only 40+ days to go and 6 days until early voting starts in Ohio.
Sadly most of what is here is true
but with Obama our civil rights haven’t actually accrued.
The right to protest is all but gone
with non-combatants and whistle-blowers incarcerated indefinitely long.
No nod to the Occupiers, more and more freedoms lost,
Barack might be the lesser of 2 evils, but at what cost?
Let him address such things before more jump off the boat,
and maybe then will come the enthusiasm to get out the vote.
I voted for O but will now NEVER forgive him for NDAA, his constant suppression of protesters, entrenching Bush’s vile TSA/DHS with its molestations, and harmful irradiation of us, and thievery of our stuff, and not just at airports. It astounds me how many of our most basic civil liberties has just disappeared in the last 3 years. If anything’s worth waking the F-up for, it’s our loss of freedom to travel, speak up and whistle-blow. Very sad and frightening.
Two words for your consideration: Supreme Court.
Samuel L Jackson is complaining about Mitt sending jobs overseas? doesn’t the film industry prefer sending jobs to whomever will give you a co-financing/production deal (oversea) or a tax break? if we want to stop sending jobs overseas, shouldn’t we stop thinking we are better than the strawberry pickers first. aren’t those jobs here in the US yet we don’t want them and we let the illegal immigrants to come and take our jobs? we like to complain yet we don’t like to work … we like to play the lotto and we don’t like to work … we like to be paid yet we don’t like to work.
the fundamental problem in the US is we all like a good time (isn’t that why no one will bomb Hollywood) and most of us are getting lazier. everyone have a choice and freedom here in the US to excel with their lives and fight against the odds. some may never succeed but at least they tried. some give up quickly but they gave it a shot. some never tried and most just believe others are lucky. very few people dedicate their lives to work extremely hard at a job they don’t really want. if the government will give you food stamps and you don’t have to work, why not be a “victim” and rely on the government or a rich husband/wife.
I vote for someone that prefers the mind set of free enterprise and not redistribution. that is what America was built on and why people all want to come to US and pursue their American Dream. complaining the rich avoid paying tax … don’t the first question majority if not all tax payers ask their accountant or tax software is “what are my tax deductions?” and the second questions is “what else can I deduct?” an the third questions is “are you sure that is all I can deduct?”
we all know the American education system is behind compare (except some colleges/universities) to other countries. but it’s the freedom to pursue your dream and be anything you want that draws people here. then again, who is going to say you can’t dream to be a “victim” in America?
at least Mitt helped his investors made billions, maybe he can help me (or US) make millions if I invest in him. and keep the money … not forced to redistributed to the “victims”. what did the “victims” do for me to deserve a share of my hard earned dollar? I’ll redistribute when I’m inspired on my own. the choice should be mine.
Don’t assume that everyone who votes for Obama considers himself or herself a victim.
Maybe Obama recognizes that innovation doesn’t come from the 1%, it comes from members of the 99% who aspire to be in the 1%. These are the people who are taking risks, starting businesses, forgoing a paycheck to write checks for employees.
We don’t need tax subsidies and tax breaks for the largest companies in the US or the richest people in the US. Give tax breaks to start-ups and small business owners so that they can grow. Incentivize the 1% to invest their wealth in start-ups, not in overseas bank accounts.
The philosophy should be “give a hand-up not a hand-out,” because tax cuts for billionaires, or billion dollar bail-outs are still hand-outs. Policies that Obama claims to support, like making it easier for Americans to pay for college, tax breaks for businesses who hire American workers instead of sending jobs overseas, not Romney/Ryan ideas like easing environmental regulations on how much we allow businesses to pollute the environment, or eliminating taxes for companies that are sitting on Billions of $$$ in reserves.
If Obama could do that, outlaw unpaid internships, reduce the number of months you’re allowed to be on unemployment, retain the work requirement for welfare, and put a limit on how many times Americans can collect food stamps in their lifetime, then American can go back to being producers instead of importers and middle-men.
The funny thing is that this actually reaffirms why i WILL VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY. What Sam is saying is, “Obama will redistribute wealth”. No, that’s not going to work for our country. This country has to make sacrifices (i.e. cut back on programs, earmarks, etc…) in order to reduce deficit. And to say in the same sentence, “Obama sent troops to kill Osama, and Mitt sent job overseas”, is just ludicrous. Hollywood — please keep out of politics.
All wealth is redistributed by all governments, regardless of party affiliations.
Can I ask you about Corporate welfare? I mean the GOP and dems keeps fighting to keep giving billions to the oil industry and the banks get millions in tax initiatives, why aren’t we cutting them down rather than cutting food stamps which is used by the poor to barely get by…
There’s a lot more money in it at least, also, why is Romney going to cut 700B out of Medicaid and than use a huge amount of that money to pay for tax cuts for people who are making a lot of money already, what’s wrong with raising the taxes to the point they were at when Bill Clinton was president and we had a surplus?
I’m not American by the way, I just find Romney/Ryan plans to be ridicolous and reminds me of Bush 2000-2008, and we all now what happened.
Also, Obamacare will be repealed, I mean what is going to happen? Will all the things that have gone into action go away?
It doesn’t seem like Romney has a chance though, Obama has a 5-10 point lead in Florida and Ohio, that is something people haven’t seen in a long time a month away from the election.
I’d like to see Sam Jackson’s tax returns.
Guarantee he paid a higher tax rate that Mitt
Idiot Jackson jokingly(?) wished death from the hurricane to everyone at the Republican convention. Not exactly an admirable spokesman.
Yet this is still not as creepy as brainless actresses like Longoria and Alba, hand on heart, pledging allegiance to Obama like zombies to their cult leader.
Finally. It looks like nine-year-olds will be getting the vote. I look forward to the day when the chains are finally unlocked and Face Painting and the Right to Sticker Fun are a federal mandate and not left up to the states!
I’m embarrassed for our country.
…And you are still Sleeping!
It would be ironic if conservatives object to this video, since their whole worldview is essentially a bedtime story for emotionally/intellectually/morally arrested children who are afraid to grow up and venture outside into the big, bad world where everyone may not be just like them.
This developmentally challenged reflex is on display in a post above, which rather than addressing the legitimacy of the claims made against Romney in the video, tries to divert the debate into an utterly irrelevant non-issue re the funding source’s supposedly shady heritage. Sorry: not to let pesky facts intrude on your clearly Glenn-Beck induced fantasy about the allegedly “evil” George Soros, but libels like this shouldn’t go unchallenged.
As Michelle Goldberg noted in 2010 in response to Beck’s charges of Soros’ “collaboration” with Nazis, “In fact, when Soros was 14 in Nazi-occupied Hungary, his father bribed an agriculture official to pretend that the boy was his Christian godson. Soros once had to accompany his protector to inventory a confiscated Jewish estate. Asked by 60 Minutes if he felt guilty about it, he said no, because he wasn’t at fault. The slander that he was a Nazi collaborator has proliferated on the right ever since.”
In addition, Abraham Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League and a Holocaust survivor himself, condemned Beck’s character assassination in similar terms: “Glenn Beck’s description of George Soros’ actions during the Holocaust is completely inappropriate, offensive and over the top.For a political commentator or entertainer to have the audacity to say—inaccurately—that there’s a Jewish boy sending Jews to death camps, as part of a broader assault on Mr. Soros, that’s horrific… To hold a young boy responsible for what was going on around him during the Holocaust as part of a larger effort to denigrate the man is repugnant.”
It goes without saying that these two comments—from impeccably non anti-Semitic sources—have failed to penetrate conservatives’ titanium bubble of willfully self-induced cluelessness. But then ignoring the question with nonsequiturs because you lack a tenable position is one of the classic diversionary tactics in debating, so it’s hardly surprising to see it rear its ugly little head in the logically impaired squeak on display above.
You people are nuts. It’s a joke, okay?
Jesus, you right wing people keep shooting yourselves in the foot. Any decent candidate could have bested Obama in this economy but you guys put up the Replacement Ref of candidates. Get over it.
Romeys campaign has been a joke, the man in incompetent. Christie or Bush would have this election won up by now.
Speaking of jokes… Thank you for that. I will be chuckling over it for days.
Hilarious! I love how much Republicans whine like little babies when a celebrity endorses the other side but in Tampa they were all in line to give Clint a blow job. Hypocrites!
Sam wrote in a profanity filled tweet that it was unfair that God spared Republicans attending the convention in Tampa from the wrath of Hurricane Isaac. Was that a joke, too? Just seeking clarification.
If people would wake up, not a single senior, woman, firefighter, police officer, teacher, entrepreneur making less than $250k/yr, minority, LGBT, student, parent of a student, person with a pre-existing health condition (that means all of you breast, prostate cancer survivors), parent of a child with a pre-existing condition (autism, asthma, etc.), veteran would be voting for the Romney/Ryan ticket as they would be either harmed by Romney/Ryan fiscal plan or are part of the 47% he doesn’t care about. Wake up people1
There was wisdom behind old Hollywood’s policy of being restrained in the airing of one’s political views. Entertainers should embrace entertaining all (or as close to it as possible) and to alienate as few as realistically possible.
Sadly, Sam Jackson has sought to put a barrier between his performances as an actor and his audience. Ego, in this instance, has trumped good sense.
Either that, or he has decided to embrace a specific audience while alienating another. I find that particularly helpful in the “not affiliating with idiots” camp…
