Showtime has renewed comedy series Episodes for a third season with a nine-episode order. The show, co-production of Showtime and the BBC, will begin production in Los Angeles and London next year. Episodes has been a modest ratings performer. Season-to-date, it averages 1.66 million weekly viewers across platforms and skews male, with 78% of subscribers watching on a time-shifted basis. Its most recent premiere episode drew 414,000 viewers.
Episodes, created and executive produced by David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, stars Matt LeBlanc in his Golden Globe-winning role as a fictionalized version of himself. Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig star as the husband and wife writing-producing duo lured to Hollywood; Kathleen Rose Perkins, John Pankow and Mircea Monroe co-star. Jimmy Mulville also exec produces through his Hat Trick production company.

This show is so brilliant. Yay!
Glad to read about the renewal. A surprisingly good show.
I might be in the minority on this, but I am very happy to see Episodes coming back. Season 1 was OK, but Season 2 was a riot. I literally laughed out loud at least twice in every episode this season.
You are absolutely not the minority. This show rocks and every week it is truly funny and real.
Excellent news.
they didn’t fix much of the issues I had with season 2, but once again the finale was a great one (involving yet another hilarious fight) so good for them and very good news for LeBlanc.
Love this show! The writing is exceptional. Matt LeBlanc is hilarious as “himself”. He seems like he is not even acting most of the time…just talking and reacting. It’s great. the characters of Sean and Beverly are really the focal point in my opinion and I like their relationship. The entire cast is great to watch. I don’t think anyone (but Matt’s ex) is a low point.
Absolutely looking forward to it for Season 3! Congrats
Matt’s ex is actually hysterical–don’t know the actress’s name, but she’s very good. The whole show rounded into form season 2, after a hit-and-miss first year, and has become must watching Sun nights. I always wondered who the real talent was in the Kaufmas/Crane partnership, and I guess this proves it.
Great News. I love this show. I’ve been telling everyone I know to catch up on this as it’s the funniest show on TV.
Awesome! great show leblanc and co. are great
VERY happy to hear this news. I came late to this party, but watched all of Season 1 in a couple of days, and eagerly looked forward to Sundays for each episode in Season 2. True, smart and funny–a winning combination.
The Friends curse is officially dead! Cougar Town has made it to the Season 3 mark, which I think broke it. Now Episodes got renewed for Season 3, Web Therapy is probably going to get a Season 3, and Go On is looking like NBC’s biggest hit since My Name is Earl (at least for the first 3 years).
Meh-
The first season was remarkable, the second, not remarkable. Hope the third rocks becasue I do love the characters and it one of the best “inside” show around.
It’s a wonderfully crafted comedy. LeBlanc’s imitation of a deaf woman during sex was literally horribly funny.
So this 3rd season will bring the episode total of “Episodes” to 25, about half of the 2 season run of “Joey.” Yikes.
So glad! I thought for sure they might ax this. It’s a really funny show and there aren’t many of those around.
Yay!! This show is hilarious!
Please, one request: Tamsen Greig, GROW YOUR HAIR. Please!!
Check out the hilarious UK shows Green Wing,, Black Books (both on NetFlix) and Friday Night Dinner. Grieg stars in all three, always with short hair! I’m very happy Episodes is coming back. Matt LeBlanc is great.
Have yet to watch Green Wing and I was disappointed by Black Books. Friday Night Dinner is hysterical, though.
i saw that this British director Jim Field Smith directed the whole 2nd season. very funny. much funnier than the first season.
Thanks Jim!
Easily the best show on tv. Great news!
Such great news. This is my favorite comedy show at the moment.
Thank you Showtime LOVE EPISODES
Love John Pankow!
what is so gay about this is the 21 comments so far about this. lots of lillywhites sitting around watching the amoeba of a show called friends. oh joey, let’s have the boys over.
oy.
Thank you, Showtime! We love this show. The physical comedy of the Brits and Matt are Dick Van Dyke priceless.
If this show truly makes you laugh, then welcome to the middle age of your life.
You can see the jokes coming over the hill from a mile away.
Spoken like someone clearly over the hill. Don’t trip on the jokes on your way down.
Season 1 was great. Season 2….dull.
Great news. The show is so well written and so well acted. The characters really came alive in season two and the “stalker” element was a riot! The laughs catch you off guard because the characters become so real. It seems almost as if you are watching a crazy documentary! Glad to hear its renewed. Looking forward to it!
