Lincoln didn’t send troops to the south to free slaves, and Lincoln never freed all of he slaves. He sent troops to the south to crush a rebelion that was forming. Lincoln was one of the worst examples of a moral president. He started a draft that turned into a type of force inscription for Irish and German immigrants, He suspended and ignored tons of civil liberties including a few from the Bill of Rights. He imprisoned people for speaking out against the government.
I’m not trying to bash Lincoln he was in a tough situation and he did litterally everything possible to stop the union from falling apart. But, stating he had a high moral purpose and started the war to free slaves is just incorrect.
