Tina Fey plans to keep her 30 Rock TV address after the end of her NBC series. The 30 Rock creator/executive producer and star has signed a new four-year overall deal with series producer Universal Television to develop new projects for the studio. The deal kicks in next year. Fey segued to 30 Rock after a stint on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, where she became the first female head writer. She has also successfully expanded into features and is a best-selling author. 30 Rock is set to end its seven-season run in January. Fey’s pact with Uni TV was first reported by Variety.

She’s the best!
I always harboured the idea that Fey should take over from Lorne Michaels and take the reins at SNL.
Good idea/Bad idea?
fascinating…
I had this very same conversation with an SNL co-orker just this past Saturday.
I think it would be an …interesting idea, but I can’t for the life of me see why she would want the agita that comes with that gig.
This means she would be on hand if Sarah Palin were to run in 2016.
This should be interesting! I can’t really see her staring in another series so soon after 30 Rock. So, I suppose she will just develop vehicles for other stars? I would be happy if Jane Krakowski could have another series right away!
Tina is truly talented and it’s great to see some more development possibilities in NYC. A 4-year deal, NBC obviously wants to lock her in, no doubt paid her top dollar. If she’s a true New Yorker, she’s online right now looking at the new apartment she’s going to buy.
SNL needs you back, babe.
Go right the ship.
I just hope that all her talents don’t keep her from the movie business much or from trying theater. (Her show with Rachel Dratch at the old U.C.B. stage was just excellent.) Does her deal include such contingency components with Universal generally? Or can she get a movie deal somewhere else? This woman is capable of doing screwball comedy on par with the likes of Preston Sturges in my opinion, perhaps as a director too – like Woody Allen. She’s an Elaine May but with the discipline and the decisiveness that May had problems with.
Congrats!!! Awesome talent…totally disproves that “chicks can’t be funny” baloney.
