EXCLUSIVE: We will be seeing a lot more of Emily’s (Emily Van Camp) mystery guardian Aiden Mathis on ABC‘s Revenge. Barry Sloane, who has been playing the role on a recurring basis since the beginning of Season 2, has been promoted to a regular starting with Episode 14 and will appear in all episodes of the series’ back nine. Additionally, there is an option for Sloane to continue as a regular next season should the soapy drama be renewed for a third season.
British TV and stage actor Sloane landedo n the radar of ABC executives when he was cast as the male lead in the ABC/20th TV drama pilot Gotham last season. He segued to the recurring role on Revenge. His promotion to regular comes on the heels of interest in him from several pilots over the past few weeks. Sloane, repped by The Collective, Innovative Artists and UK’s BWH Agency, will be seen next year starring in The Weinstein Co’s Penthouse North. He also filmed a role in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.

Scott, you are absolutely right. Barry was great on Broadway, when he starred in ” Jerusalem.” He is manly, smart, talented , and charismatic- plus he has a strong physical presence. He is a keeper ! I can see him hitting it big time on the silver screen.

Revenge just doesn’t seem as compelling as it was in its first season. This season, they have too many different stories, and keep veering away from the main story of Revenge. Maybe they should retitle it, “Revenge and other stories the writers find compelling but you won’t.”

Great news! He is such a star. I was very bummed when GOTHAM wasn’t picked up (tsk tsk ABC), so it’s great to see Barry on the television screen this year. He really has presence and sex appeal…I think we can all see why Emily would fall for him.
He would totally get snatched up by a pilot if they didn’t solidify his deal for this.
