EXCLUSIVE: I’m hearing that after a lengthy search, Cameron Crowe has set his sights on Bradley Cooper to star with Emma Stone in the film Crowe wrote and will direct next spring for Sony Pictures. Scott Rudin is producing. Crowe set Stone last July for the untitled project, a two-hander with a tone reminiscent of past Crowe films Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire. No deal yet, but I expect there to be one. It is the latest good thing to happen for Cooper, who’ll be making Oscar noise for his performance as the bipolar Philadelphia Eagles fan in the David O Russell-directed Silver Linings Playbook for The Weinstein Company. Cooper’s repped by CAA.

CRUSHING.
Well… Cooper is definitely being taken very seriously. As an actor, that is.
Still on the fence as to whether he’s got the chops. We’ll see…
Every Eagles fan is bipolar.
Actresses over 25 are just screwed, aren’t they?
No kidding!!
I love Emma and look forward to her very long career. But really? Is there truly NO ONE else ready to work who’s more age appropriate? It’s absurd! Seems like the same 20 people are starring in every new film. This is what I hate about the new tide in this industry: everyone wants water from the same well. That is everyone except the audience. Ugh.
A 38 year old romancing a 23 year old. In the Midwest we call that creepy. In Hollywood they call it casting.
Yeah, but she doesn’t look a day under 30. Talk about needing to see a birth certificate.
RE: A 38 year old romancing a 23 year old.
I call that WINNING!
@Thomas
23 Years Old Is Still Legal
Seriously dude is pushing 40 and needs to stop dating teenagers on-screen.
Once is fine but when it turns into a pattern it’s not. I’m already associating him as creepy pedo guy now.
Maybe before you blast the casting you know something about the story. I have faith in CC material, but not every film as been executed up to the material. But before I throw out the baby,
I will cut him some slack. Emma for me can do know wrong. Bradey most of the time I like, but God let’s stop with the Hangover movies…the entire concept gives me the creeps.
Can someone explain what “two-hander” means as it pertains to this project?
