EXCLUSIVE: I’ve just confirmed with CAA my news that the talent agency is moving its New York office. Its current location is at 162 5th Avenue.
The new address is the iconic Chrysler building at 405 Lexington Avenue. My sources say CAA has just signed a 15-year lease to occupy Floors 18 through 20 of the Art Deco skyscraper considered one of the finest examples of NYC architecture. The new deal gives the tenpercentery 74,550 square feet at a price of $58.50 psf with $5 bumps every five years. One source tells me that the first year may even be free.

Makes sense. I believe Quetzalcoatl lives on the top floor.
This is great news! Bryan is a very talented agent. He came out to the industry without knowing anyone and is proof that his hard work paid off. Looking forward to this one. Congrats to everyone involved.
We tried so hard to get those floors first.
LOL!
Good news to all. George Lane rules.
my compliments to the real estate agent who sold the lease. $4 million a month for 74k square feet? wow
Commercial real estate prices are annualized. (58.50/12) * (74) = $400k/mo +/-
math is wrong
dude, commmon… really?
They pay more than that in century city now…
Great location. The most stylish building in the history of the city at the nexus of Madison Avenue, downtown, the theater district, the networks (mostly – Black Rock and 30 Rock certainly) the old Central Park axis of show business, much of the publishing business – on a beautiful day all within walking distance; if not the two way 42nd just off of Grand Central ideal for everything from stretch limos, car services, taxis – if you’ve got the time – MetroCard-worthy if you don’t. Not surprised; they think outside of the box more than the business has ever given them credit, a burden from the Ovitz era.
(Great convenient location for all support staff too.)
While perhaps purely coincidental, the building is also home to one of the largest media-only LBO firms in the world.
Could this mean that CAA plans a big push into the publishing business? If so independent agent beware. Soon they will be going after your clients.
Response to the APA employee…Guess WME and APA will now battle over space in the Empire State Bldg. Art
Yeah Q reference!
