Why are the film winners from 2011?
Stop casting Australians and British people in every role! Cast AMERICAN actors! It’s getting ridiculous how much you guys put them on a pedestal at the expense of our own actors here in the USA. An accent and a passport does not an actor make.
no it’s the training. and we just don’t have the quality or quantity of trained actors here sadly.
Wonderful evening, from start to finish. This is fast becoming the best awards show of the year. Ben Affleck totally rocked it.
Training? You’ve got to be kidding! Do you know how many GREAT AMERICAN high-profile actors, celebrities there are, many without the so-called training those foreigners claim to have. Guess not. If only today’s casting directors were smarter and let newcomers (with or without training – BTW, look at the TOP celebrities without any training but “Natural Talent” who got their break), Americans, locals, be given a chance to ‘read’, they’d be surprised to discover GREAT talent again. Give the new guy/gal a chance to read. CDs out there… “be leaders, not followers!” Lately, you’ve lost your nerve and taken the easy road. Remember this when Americans decide enough of this foreign invasion crap into American Films & TV.
“…and we just don’t have the qauntity or quality of trained actors here sadly..”Ridiculous. And lazy. Wanna know what’s really sad? We are also lacking the quality and quantity of trained Casting Directors. Many of whom are lazy and phone it in. They can’t be bothered and often won’t. Fact. Too lazy or arrogant to pick up the phone. And oh so pressed for time. They have their lists and their favors. Their is currently someone working in a very highly respected high profile casting office and this someone is writing a tell-all about CASTING. And the gritty dirty truth about the casting process and/or lack thereof.
Do you really think casting directors/productions prefer to cast Brits and Aussies over Americans?? Do you know the cost and hassle associated with having to get a Visa?! They get cast because they seem to bring something unique to a role! How can you call casting directors lazy when they reach out overseas to find the best actor for the part? Wouldn’t it be easier to stick with actors who are local?!
