A year after Chuck ended its run, the cult dramedy’s creators Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz have reunited for Midnighters, a drama based on the Alloy sci-fi/fantasy book trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. This time, Fedak is the sole writer on the project, which is being produced by Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire, Alloy Entertainment and
Warner Bros. Television. Midnighters, which has received a script commitment, is a drama centered on a small group of people all born at the stroke of midnight who have access to the 25th hour of the day. Fedak, Schwartz and Savage executive produce with Fake Empire’s Len Goldstein and Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. The Midnighters book series includes The Secret Hour (2004), Touching Darkness (2005) and Blue Noon (2006).

I did not read the books, nor do I know what the 25th hour in a day affords someone, but I think this sounds really cool. I might have to buy the first book.
I’m guessing everyone else in the world is frozen for an hour.
With that extra hour I’d catch up on some sleep…
But I’m guessing they decide to solve mysteries and uncover a global conspiracy instead.
Can it be like our old Scooby Doo gang? Those kinds of mysteries? We are really good at solving them in this case it sounds like a trick clock an old clock that stops and “freezes time” but not really the bad guy is always the person we meet in the start of each episode usually a rich old man or an angry farmer or an old miner who wants to keep all the gold for himself. In fact we never solved any mystery that was really supernatural it was always a fake supernatural event that fooled us and all the other people.
I have read this book and it is awsome FYI it is not about mystery solving but defending from monsters that share the hour
Heh, after the awful, series destroying finale to Chuck I decided I’d never watch anything with these 2 guys involved in it.
Never again.
congrats to Chris love that guy. Why isn’t Mikkel a producer on this? is Chris still with him?
I read all three books in a month and I am completely excited for this. Throughout the entire time I read them, I hoped that the series would become a movie or a TV show. Can’t wait!
Interesting… I seem to remember in the books that they only had available to them whatever was lying around during the midnight hour, so it was kind of limited resources… also, it’s about teenagers, which don’t usually get tv shows about them unless they are teen dramas. So I’m not sure how this could work for TV unless they change a lot of the book. But a faithful adaptation could be very cool, the books are incredibly creative.
Maybe they can use that 25th hour to go fix Sarah Walker’s mind and re-dothe Chuck finale.
I read the books in high school, as far as I remember, everyone else is frozen in that hour and electricity doesn’t work. They each have special skills.
Yay Chris! Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Finally! I have been waiting for Midnighters TV show since forever and now its here (almost)! Anyway, the books are really good and I bet the TV show will be as well. Thanks.
