Just like it did with Hurricane Irene last year, satcaster DirecTV has launched a dedicated channel for 24/7 information on Hurricane Sandy, which is projected to hit the East Coast this evening. The service began broadcasting at 9 AM ET this morning on viewer channels 325 and 349.

this coming from Direct TV, I’m surprised that they are not charging $49.95. But rest assured that they will be charging all the hurricane victims at least that much to come back out an make their TV’s work after the storm.
Direct TV will make a fortune off this hurricane – first in add sales. Then in service charges.
I guess this is for the people not any where near hurricane sandy. It’s not like anyone who needs this will have access since direct tv never picks up a signal during any kind of storm.
These channels are actually pretty annoying. Theyre not spending money on it- they just keep showing feeds from cbs affiliates in the area- so youll see cbs2 from new york and stations in philly or baltimore etc
DirecTV. The only mainstream company I’ve encountered determined to be more self-serving than a US politician, or previously, a used car salesman.
