David Chalian has been named VP of video programming at Politico, the site reported today. Chalian was fired as Yahoo News Washington Bureau Chief during the Republican National Convention after he was caught on open mic over a break during an ABC News/Yahoo News webcast saying Mitt Romney and his wife Anne were “not concerned at all” about African Americans suffering because of Hurricane Isaac and were “happy to have a party with black people drowning”. He was referring to the fact that the convention was taking place as Isaac made landfall on the north Gulf coast. Politico Editor In Chief John Harris told Dylan Byers “David screwed up, admitted he screwed up and paid the price of losing his job for screwing up”. He added that Chalian has “made clear that remark did not reflect his personal views or professional standards”.

“Chalian has ‘made clear that remark did not reflect his personal views or professional standards’”.
Who amongst us wouldn’t say anything to get the next job?…even lie, if necessary, as Chalian obviously has…
Chalian may change his behavior & pronoucements on air & in writing…but honestly, who amongst us would believe anything coming from such a myopic, obviously rabid liberal like this guy…
Professional standards?…he doesn’t even know the meaning…
Some folks can say the darnedest things and keep their job–or get a better one.
Look for Mr Chalian to keep his head low and his mouth shut when President Romney is elected come November 6.
How Harris believe something Chalian said in believed secrecy “did not reflect his personal views or professional standards”? What is someone more likely to do when they think no one critical is listening: saying what they think others want to hear, or speak from the heart?
These two idiots deserve each other. Let David drag Politico down even further than it’s already gone in terms of quality and respectability.
