The upcoming 12th season of American Idol, featuring new judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban, will open with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, January 16 (8-10 PM) and Thursday, January 17 (8-9 PM). The following Monday, January 21, Fox’s anticipated new drama The Following, starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, will make its series debut in the 9 PM slot, following Bones. And Touch, originally slated for a fall launch in the Friday 8 PM slot, will premiere its second season February 1. It will air in the Friday 9 PM slot, succeeding departing Fringe and likely getting a Gordon Ramsay lead-in. (Fox will run Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares in the hour beginning this Friday.) The only remaining scripted Fox series with no premiere date is comedy The Goodwin Games, which will likely replace Ben And Kate in Fox’s comedy block in midseason.

If you want TOUCH to be successful, airing Friday’s NOT a good slot. try Saturday or Sunday. Know your market and their habits & lifestyles better.
Saturday??????
What? Saturday would be way worse.
Saturday? Unless they change the title to “COPS” that’s never happening, and Fox hasn’t aired drama or frankly anything that isn’t live action on Sundays in year. I honestly thought they’d give it the Monday 9PM slot to bank on Sutherland’s old 24 spot but the Following makes sense there. Thursday after Idol would have been perfect for Touch.
Kevin Bacon show has nowhere to go, Fox your CBS envy is showing.
The headline of this story should be “FOX announces date it will move into first place”.
i love kevin williamson and the the following seems good so why would they put it on friday?
After the dismal outing this Fall (Vegas), (Arrow), (Revolution), (Mindy), here’s to hoping for a good show on network TV.
