EXCLUSIVE: ICM Partners has signed Michael Kenneth Williams, who is lighting it up after bursting on the scene in HBO’s The Wire as Omar, robber of drug dealers. While Williams moved on to the role of bootlegger Chalky White in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, he has been doing just as well on the feature front. He recently wrapped production on Steve McQueen’s upcoming film 12 Years A Slave, as well as Ric Roman Waugh’s Snitch opposite Dwayne Johnson. And he was on Quentin Tarantino’s short list for the title role in Django Unchained. Williams is currently shooting the MGM feature Robocop, playing the title character’s partner in the Jose Padilha-directed remake.

OMAR!!! Love him. He’s amazing in Boardwalk too as Chalky. This guy is a star. Great sign ICM!
Agreed.
Awesome actor, but they have no idea what to do with him on Boardwalk Empire. I keep waiting for a Chalky episode, but in six episodes this season he’s had a few scenes of daughter drama and that’s it.
And the scene where he was used as Nucky’s muscle was pretty ridiculous.
Still holding out hopes for the second half of the season.
Yes! Why is he not in more of boardwalk? his character is such a bad-ass, HBO we want more Chalky!!!
You are soooo right! He has been under-utilized, and what he brings to the role of Chalky is brains, so much more than brawn. He is the reason I watch! PERIOD!
I agree with you Pvt. Duke. Too much of that boring whore-house storyline.
Hes the best!
I am a HUGE fan. I don’t watch Boardwalk, but it’s such a shame if they are wasting him on that show. He has such infectious energy, wit and flair. A true talent.
why would he go to icm now he will never work again!
and what, my dear, makes you say that hmmm?
this is an awesome pick up for ICM
Mike’s work since the Wire steadily progresses. He’s perfecting his skills as evidenced by Chalky character. We need to more. I look forward to new exciting projects.
Ditto! More Chalky HBO. He’s a complicated character with a much needed perspective. Your viewers want to see how life is from both sides of Atlantic Avenue.
