While Innocence Of Muslims producer Mark Basseley Youssef, aka Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, sits in a Los Angeles jail awaiting a Nov. 9 probation violation hearing, the fallout from his anti-Islam video continues. The leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who took over after the death of Osama bin Laden last year, has praised last month’s attacks in Cairo and Benghazi which were spurred on by the crudely-made film and has called for more protests outside U.S.
embassies, Reuters reports. Four U.S. diplomats were killed in the Libyan violence including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. In a recording posted to Islamist websites today, Zawahiri called the violence “honest and zealous,” according to The Guardian. Zawahiri further called on “free and distinguished zealots for Islam” to “continue their opposition to American crusader Zionist aggression against Islam and Muslims.”
After the Cairo and Benghazi attacks, deadly protests of the film that lampoons the Prophet Mohammad spread throughout the Muslim world over a two-week period. Zawahiri said U.S. authorities “permitted the film in the name of personal freedom and freedom of expression… but this freedom did not prevent them from torturing Muslim prisoners” in Guantanamo, Iraq and Afghanistan. Washington condemned the film, calling it “disgusting” and “reprehensible,” but stopped short of a ban in the name of the U.S. Constitution’s protection of free speech. Authorities believe the 9/11 storming of diplomatic facilities in Benghazi was a “deliberate and organized terrorist attack” and are said to be investigating whether Al Qaeda-linked militants were involved.

Yeah, it’s all because of a movie that no one has seen.
As a cancer on the greater body of humanity, it’s nearly impossible to effectively destroy religious gangsters such as Al Qaeda without fully grasping the nature of religious indoctrination as outlined in the YouTube video, “Bikinis and Burqas: Narrowing the Gap.”
“More protests” implies that the coordinated attacks in Cairo and Benghazi were caused by the goofy YouTube video. But the State Department admitted in congressional testimony on 10/10 that there is no evidence the video was behind those attacks.
Talk about milking an incident. Of course this is the only way these type leaders can get attention and feed their egos, so it is no surprise that they are encouraging more protests. Pathetic.
There is a drone strike with this guys name on it…..
Wouldn’t you just love to see this guy on American TV, ready to be interviewed: “First question: Shut the fuck up.” And then the interview ends w/a montage of amazing American things like chicken wings and tight t-shirts. :0)
But on a serious note, regardless of what country you’re from, or religion, or political affiliation, this just shows that all old people are alike: THEY DON’T GET HOW YOUTUBE WORKS! #dumb, #ass, #putthosetwowordstogether
You complain that old people don’t know how YouTube works … and then use hashtags on Deadline? Wut?
Here’s an idea: why don’t you guys stop giving credence to the ravings of lunatics like the leader of al Qaeda? As if this psychopath ever needed an excuse to kill people. This was the group that shot a 14 year old girl in the head only days ago because she wanted to be educated and some reform. This is the group that last week beheaded a 12 year old boy and a six year old girl, honestly, to send a message to people in their respective villages.
And they’re offended by a movie? A movie no one even knows exists? I’m offended by Deadline’s constant updating on what these raving lunatics have to say. You make it seem like their compaints are valid and their violence justified. Why give these thugs a platform?
This apologizing for a movie that doesn’t even exist is getting ridiculous.
After the Undead issue an Unapology followed by a declaration of UnFatwa calling for an UnJihad all this nonsense should be neutralized. Seriously, however, perhaps these folks should pay more attention to another prophet they claim to revere when he said “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”
ramblings of a crazy old guy… al quaeda is a gang… and we spend billions fighting a few hundred people and take our shoes off at the airport becasue of these very few idiots
The fact that these guys nearly always choose to be photographed with a weapon at their side speaks volumes. I’m not religious but I don’t recall any depictions of, say, Jesus or Moses with a weapon and please don’t give me any crap about the invention of firearms, it’s the symbolism that’s paramount here.

Malala Yousafzai being shot and there being very little protect around the middle east really diminishes caring about how insulted they may have felt because of a film.
