The director and DreamWorks Animation CEO’s contributions to the Super PAC Priorities USA were revealed today in a filing to the Federal Elections Commssion. The electronic filing shows that Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg made their donations on September 24. Katzenberg, one of the largest donors to the Obama campaign, hosted a private meeting with President Obama and former
President Bill Clinton at his home on October 7. The meeting also included 11 other deep-pocket donors to Obama’s re-election campaign. Later that day Katzenberg also co-hosted a $25,000 per ticket campaign dinner for Obama at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant in the Ritz Carlton in downtown LA. Katzenberg also donated $2 million to Priorities USA in May 2011, and Spielberg gave $100,000 in July 2011. Morgan Freeman donated $1 million to the super PAC in June this year, matching a February contribution by Bill Maher.

How much did Big Bird donate?
Bless you Steven, Jeffrey, David, Morgan, Bill and all the many others who have given so much. WE, AND THE WORLD, NEED BARACK RE-ELECTED. And then Hillary – would you please take the next 8 years? PLEASE!!!
Hear that? That’s the sound of two million bucks being flushed down the toilet How cute, though, that they do everything together
Too little, too late.
There are still wealthy that feel the importance of country over tax money protection- nice.
Gotta love Spielberg and Katzenberg for doing this. If only there were more like them. Makes me proud.
Why just one million? Is there a limit for Super Pacs? Could they have donated five million each? Would they give that much? If so are these large checks tax deductible? Can I donate money to my own Super Pac? Why don’t I spend my own money? I’m very wealthy.
Why are people donating all this money to make a super version of Pac-man. The original is still the best. What a silly waste if money.
Its their money, if they want to throw it away that’s OK with me.
I doubt they’ll see it as a waste when they get invited to Obama’s Second Inaugural this coming January.
Deal with it, teabaggers.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Do you truly believe the world needs four more years of the Obama administration? Just exactly what do you want more of? – The gross negligence of economic policy that has seen record deficit – The unconstitutional appointment of unqualified people to the post of czar. – A president who prefers to go on a talk show instead o keeping a meeting with other world leaders. – a healthcare monstrosity that promises to destroy one of the most advanced medical systems in the world. – a president who insults our allies and bows to radical leaders bend on the destruction of those who do not share their faith… I could go on but what exactly do u think the world needs more of? Wake up before it’s too late. ROMNEY/RYAN is the only sane choice for America and people should start paying attention to the record. Obama himself said he would be held accountable, it is about time we did just that.
Yawn. Sick of right-wing hysterics.
Go Katzenberg and Spielberg!
Obama/Biden 2012!
great post, but don’t worry about it… it’s Carter/Reagan all over again… even with what the NYTimes just wrote about with regards to Iran..
people have woken up and wised up to Obama… the polls show a tied race (of course with oversampling of dems)
it will be a landslide..
see you nov 7!
….Wish I had the much money to flush down the toilet.
$2 million dollars of California money used to buy TV ads and pizza for part-time campaign workers in Ohio so they can make phone calls to same people for the 10th time.
They couldn’t figure a better way to invest and help the people where they live?
Boycott “Lincoln” and “Guardians” if you want to show them your disapproval. Otherwise let it go…
Pretty much sums it up Anastasia. Agree 100%.
I thought rich guys giving money in politics was evil? Oh yeah, only if you’re not a liberal. Never mind. Let’s all go protest the Koch brothers for funding that cancer hospital and the New York City opera. How do those evil bastards sleep at night?
Too little, too late. They might as well stuff those bills into garbage cans and set them on fire.
And anastasia said it above. Time for a change.
Gee, I guess there is a reason I haven’t paid dime one to see a Spielberg, or Dreamworks, movie in the past ten years. Besides, the Steven hasn’t directed/produced a decent movie since Private Ryan. So it is a win win for me.
Under California’s stringent air-quality statutes, burning $2 million in cash could well be problematic, so this is a far better choice.
Just like Dreamworks Animation, these two keep throwing money behind losing propositions.
Good for them…..makes me proud!
Perhaps the money will be spent on commercials reminding the populace that the only time Obama gets good Q ratings is when he acts like a Republican.
This money was wasted. If these gazillionaires really cared, they would have put the money directly in the hand of people who need it, like food banks or job retraining centers or subsidized daycare.
Should have donated the money to Planned Parenthood or PBS and let the government use our taxpayer money to start paying down the deficit.
What am I missing. Aren’t these guys part of the 1% that the liberals hate, want to tax to the hilt and redistribute their wealth? They must have gotten a promise that nothing will be done to them if they fail to pay their taxes. Just look at all the tax dodgers in this administration.
