The Lindsay Lohan-Barbara Walters interview is scheduled to air November 16 on ABC’s newsmagazine 20/20, just ahead of the premiere of Lifetime’s Liz & Dick, which stars Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor. Walters confirmed the booking this morning on The View. Lohan is trying to revive her acting career after being derailed by personal issues and the law the past few years and is doing her part promoting the Lifetime telepic, which co-stars Grant Bowler as Richard Burton and centers on the couple’s longtime passionate and stormy love affair. (FYI, even Lifetime parent company boss Nancy Dubuc said she warned Liz & Dick with Lohan would be a risk.) Lohan also is starring in the indie pic The Canyons and scored points with her hosting job on Saturday Night Live in March, steering the show’s highest-rated episode of the season.

Is this part of Barbara’s “Least interesting people ” special?
SHE SHOULD SIT WITH A SHRINK !!!!!!
I wonder if Walters will play some clips of Lohan’s interview with Matt Lauer, when she declared her partying days are over and she doesn’t go out to clubs anymore. Then ask what bullshit she has to spread today.
She’s done. Her career can never be “revived” and people are only gonna watch this movie for a laugh & it’s on tv for free.
Liz & Dick will become Lifetimes highest rated original movie on the network. Say what you want about Lohan but the girl can sure bring the ratings.
She just can’t Act . The trailer looks awful
Walters is really slumming it these days.
If I wanted to hear what Lindsay had to say I’d just hit the clubs…
Take her apart Babs – I want to see tears!!!
Please?! Like that’s going to happen. Walters is as desperate for attention and ratings as Lindsay is, this will be a love fest puff piece.
Regardless of the ratings it’s all based on the fact that people will tune in to see a Train Wreck. If Liz & Dick weren’t released in theaters and people had to pay to see her it would bomb. Put Lindsay in a weekly drama and it will fail. One time train wreck though, yes, that will get ratings.
To clarify though, she did NOT receive high marks for her SNL gig. It was the exact opposite. People wrote that she was lackluster and that it was not a “comeback” as was hoped.
The girls is entrenched in entitlement and drowning in denial. She’s unlikable and at this point you can’t even empathize with her. She’s not a popular actress, a style icon, etc.
Compare her to Nicole Richie who had a heroin habit, a DUI and the tabloids had a field day with her. Now, she’s a mother of two with successful businesses and is frequently in the tabloids appearing at events and charities receiving high marks for her style. She’s even gotten into acting with roles on ‘Chuck’. Yes ‘Fashion Star’ isn’t a ratings blockbuster but she’s a successful functioning adult.
Go away Lindsay, you and your fake lips. You’re too old for this and Amanda Bynes has stolen your thunder.
The girl is ratings gold. I have no idea why networks do not fight over her. She should get her own TV show. People would tune in just to see if it’s trainwreck or not. I’m sure “Liz & Dick” is gonna break all the records for Lifetime. Just find someone to insure her and cast her on the show. ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, this girl is gonna make money for you.
Maybe the headaches she causes isn’t worth the risk of higher ratings. If someone isn’t reliable the product cannot be produced. If the train doesn’t start there can be no train wreck. Get my drift?
If Walters can reveal what it’s like to be stuck between two deeply troubled parents…while at the same time playing them off of each other…while the whole family makes money (or is consistently trying to) through the “reality programming” culture we now live in…contributing to the addiction problems (lying and otherwise) that ruined her career in the first place…
…could be really good…
…could be “same day/just another variation of the same artificial performance.” (Lohan acting therefore acting out IN the interview is what I mean through acting out responses…per prearranged publicist guidelines.)
I do have some sympathy for her. So many different factors surrounding her (not the least of which is probably hereditary) perhaps permanently derailed/destroyed genuine natural talents and gifts. When she a was child she probably had to be the adult in the family. Seriously – why is anybody even talking about Dina and Michael Lohan? Can’t they help their daughter without getting press? Why are they ongoing public figures? That’s what they should be working on. Hiding themselves and helping themselves and their daughter get back on track as recognizable human beings.
