Marilyn Monroe is stepping from the stage to the small screen. Marilyn: Forever Blonde, tracing the life of the screen idol, has been optioned by Eisenberg-Fisher Productions. The company based on the Paramount lot will co-produce with writer Greg Thompson’s Lipstick Productions. The plan is to incorporate interviews with celebrity attendees and fans of the stage show with an edited live performance, says producer Joel Eisenberg. The special will be pitched to cable networks and broadcast networks. The company says they hope to follow the TV special with a home video release in the first half of 2013. Sunny Thompson is scheduled to reprise her role from the one-woman show. Marilyn isn’t the only larger than life figure on Eisenberg-Fisher Productions’ horizon. The company has a feature film based on the real-life stuntman and short-lived Marvel comic character The Human Fly in development. As well Eisenberg’s EMO Films is working on a new TV version of Tales from the Crypt with William M. Gaines Agent, Inc., the rights holder of all EC Comics-related properties.

Note to Hollywood: no more Marilyn Monroe please. The audience is over saturated. Big yawns.
So who got to play Marilyn, McPheever or that blonde chick?! I’ve been waiting months to find out.
I would be SOOO excited to see this happen ~ Sunny is the closest I will ever get to meeting the real Marilyn Monroe & she BLEW ME AWAY!!! Cable companies would be fools not to pick it up!! Fingers crossed!!!
I also saw Sunny on August 4th at the El Portal Theatre…I was speechless! Michelle Williams did a great job playing Marilyn…Sunny takes the cake!
I met Sunny Thompson in Dayton Ohio at The Racquet Club during her visit & she literally channels Marilyn. I don’t think anyone will do better.
This will be fascinating! Having seen Sunny on stage here in the States & in London, I know this will NOT be just another Marilyn story. Please don’t be fooled into thinking she is some Marilyn Monroe impersonator.I too, am sick of watching people trying to look and act like MM. The difference is, Sunny Thompson is a REAL actress that puts ALL the others to shame and oddly enough, even out of make up, she just happens to look exactly like MM. She is truly captivating and grabs the essence of this American icon to a tee.
