EXCLUSIVE: Saturday Night Live alumna Michaela Watkins has been cast opposite Malin Ackerman and Brad Whitford in the ABC single-camera comedy pilot Trophy Wife. It centers on reformed party girl Kate (Akerman), who finds herself with an insta-family when she falls in love with Brad (Whitford), a successful charmer with a quirky sense of humor who has three manipulative kids and two judgmental ex-wives. Watkins, repped by CAA and Evolution, will play Brad’s second ex-wife and mother of his youngest child, Jackie, a good-natured yet self-centered woman, who embraces youth and fun and is always surprised when her freewheeling style rubs people the wrong way. Marcia Gay Harden is set to play the other ex-wife. Jason Moore is directing from a script by Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins.

Breakout Kings alumna Brooke Nevin has booked a series regular role in the TNT drama pilot Trooper. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced Trooper centers on KJ (Mira Sorvino), a recently divorced female state trooper who is as unconventional at work as she is at home raising her three kids. Nevin, repped by TalentWorks and KLWGN, will play Dakota – KJ’s sister who herself is putting the pieces of her life back together.

Omid Abtahi (Argo) has been cast in the A&E drama pilot Those Who Kill, an adaptation of a Danish crime series. Abtahi, repped by Michael Greene & Assoc., will play Jerry Molbeck, a brilliant and dutiful homicide detective who is happy to do research for Catherine as she gets closer to finding a serial killer. The project reunites Abtahi with Those Who Kill producer Fox21, which is also behind Homeland where Abtahi did an arc. Joe Carnahan is directing Those Who Kill from a script by Glen Morgan.
