• It’s about time!!! Now if they can only turn their silly shows into music videos. Also is MTV2 still around???

• Jesus, does EVERY MTV article ever until eternity need a comment about how they should play music videos. They haven’t played any since like 1992. It’s not a profitable model. They will never play videos besides the morning. Period.

  Music-related programming, yes, that should be tied back in the mix, “Making the Video” and “Diary” type shows. Music videos. No.

• Nothing will save that show. Back in a time people respected those awards and celebrities were glad to receive it. It was cool to receive award from MTV audience. And then they started to nominate and give every award to Twilight actors. And from cool it became embarrassing to receive same award as Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner.
  MTV buries their own show. They were chasing those twihards for ratings. But they lost everybody else. And these days celebrities don’t even show up to promote summer movie. Some B-listers or up and coming actors only come.

  • Agreed. They need to revamp it and change it so a panel picks the nominees and viewers pick the winners. Keep the tone ‘funny’ more than ‘swag’. Execs should watch the awards hosted by Stiller, Kudrow, Jackson, and Gellar/Fallon (and I’m not a fan of Fallon).
