EXCLUSIVE: NBC is taking a second stab at developing a comedy series based on Life As I Blow It, the book by Chelsea Lately and After Lately writer-panelist Sarah Colonna. Denise Moss (Hackett) has been brought in to write/executive produce the project, originally developed last year with Colonna writing and Danielle Sanchez supervising. Colonna will now co-write the story with Moss, who will write the script. Happy Madison and Sony TV are back producing. Life As I Blow It
will focus on the relationship of Colonna and her sister, who are brought together when Colonna loses her job and has to return to Arkansas where her sister’s life is also unraveling. Adding fuel to the fire is the sisters’ differing point of view on life and how Colonna’s nephew should be raised. While Colonna has no deal to star, the project is being developed as a potential starring vehicle for her. Happy Madison’s Doug Robinson is executive producing alongside Colonna, Moss, and New Wave Entertainment’s Abbey MacDonald, Brian Volk Weiss, and Michael Pelmont. Colonna, whose book debuted at No. 5 on the New York Times Bestseller list last year, is repped by APA and New Wave; Moss is with APA.

The sister writing team of Wendy & Lizzie Molyneux (Bob’s Burgers) have sold comedy pitch See You Next Tuesday! to ABC through 20th Century Fox TV. It’s an office comedy about a group of people who bond while working for the world’s worst boss. The duo will executive produce with Aaron Kaplan and Sean Perrone of Kaplan/Perrone. Before joining Bob’s Burgers, Wendy & Lizzie Molyneux wrote The Day I Turned Uncool for Paramount as well as the Black List script My Sister Is Marrying A Douchebag. Their current feature, We Hate Your Girlfiend, is being put together for Alison Brie. This marks the third sale for Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment this season via 20th TV. The Molyneux sisters are repped by WME and attorney Gregg Gellman.

They didn’t learn their lesson the first time? Sarah Colonna is even more grating than Chelsea.
Funny, I find you more grating than a colonoscopy.
only her mother finds her funny. and her agent.
LOVE Sarah Colonna. Loved her book. But for the love of God and all that is holy, PLEASE CHANGE THAT TITLE! The book title thing didn’t work for Chelsea.
chelsea’s titles didn’t work ? weren’t her books #1 ?
Awesome! Sarah is so funny!
Sarah is one of the funniest woman on television right now, she’s smart, beautiful and talented and I’m really pleased they are giving this another go. I wish her all the luck and if you’ve ever seen her on Chelsea Lately or anywhere else – like her stand-up – you would know that she’s the best. Congrats!
This must have been written by someone on her team. She is the most boring part of Chelsea’s show and the script was terrible the first go round. There is no way it works. Happy Madison can’t crack this one.
Wendy and Lizzie are the best.
Agreed! Love them.
Yikes. “Chelsea” was revolting enough. But NBC seems hellbent on beating the American public into submission with pure groin humor.
Extremely glad and proud of Sarah! Everyone has their own opinion, but I know she’s fabulous!
Bob’s Burgers is by far the best show on tv. Chelsea and her posse are very over rated.
I can’t stand these Chelsea shows! None are funny!
I smell something thats gonna be cancelled.
Is there any scripted pilot trope more tired than “main character leaves their life in the city and moves (back) to a/their humble little (home) town populated with quirky townspeople (and the protagonist’s dysfunctional family)”?
Agreed! Wendy and Lizzie are smart and hilarious. Smart move, ABC!
Wendy is Sweet-Ass funny!!
So, so happy for Sarah. She deserves nothing but success.
And how isn’t this a Cinemax show?
Congrats to Sarah! I love that she is breaking away and not depending on Chelsea and her company to produce her show. I think that says a lot!
I would rather watch Sarah Colonna read the phone book than any comedy from Heather McDonald. Hopefully by redeveloping this one (Colonna is a delight) they’ll scrap Heather’s.
I’m going to take a quick nap. Wake me when Chelsea Handler’s 15 minutes are up.
umm , i think its been a little over 15 minutes already , so you better take your blankie cuz you’re going to be napping for the next 50 years.
Congrats to both Sarah and the awesome team at New Wave. A great comic, a great combo – here’s to the new version working!
Yay Wendy & Lizzie! Seriously delightful + seriously funny.
