The entire 13-episode first season of Netflix’s first original series produced by Media Rights Capital will be available for members to watch
beginning February 1, 2013. Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara star in the political drama based on the BBC miniseries of the same name that takes viewers through the back halls of greed, sex, love and corruption in modern Washington, D.C. Spacey plays Francis Underwood, the House Majority Whip, who’s described as masterful, beguiling, charismatic and ruthless. He and his equally ambitious wife Claire (Wright) stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy. The series comes from director David Fincher (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network), screenwriter Beau Willimon (Farragut North, The Ides Of March) and Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Munich). House Of Cards is executive produced by Fincher, Willimon, Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies, Michael Dobbs and John Melfi. The one-hour drama is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Prods. in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.

I feel like it would have been cool for this to have been a co-production with Showtime or something. Then this could be considered for some emmys/globes (which it might have even won).
Psyched to see this.. looks like it can’t fail
Sorry House of Cards, I bet you’re a good show and all, but that’s not the announcement we want to hear from Netflix.
What announcement did you want to hear from Netfix???
I know. We’re waiting to hear about Jericho.
Fantastic poster! Good luck to Kevin, JHo and Dana!
George
Can’t wait to see Kevin play a scheming US version of Francis Urquhart! Ian Richardson made a great, scheming manipulator and I’m sure Kevin will be just as powerful… Richard lll paved the way.
Kudos for the original series. Exactly the right strategy. Looking forward to it.
lol “original”, nice troll
With all the internal problems plaguing this show, shocked to see it is premiering so soon. Good luck.
Fincher + Spacey + amazing Robin Wright. I will enjoy this a lot
Will there be Hogans?
I can’t wait to watch this show. It’s going to be amazing.
I am so excited, love a good series, and Love a great cast! Congrats on getting it done, I love everything Kevin Spacey has been in and I have seen 100000′s of movies/series.
Kevin Spacey is a great actor, the basic plot terrific stuff as done by BBC. Ian Richardson was
magnificently arch, everyone in that series brilliant. But it was BBC, hence tainted all over with
anti-tory, leftish wishy-washy doing-god’s workism. Do we expect less from the US
producers? Bet on this:
1. Every evil character in the political landscape will be a conservative, every sainted character
a well-meaning liberal politico, journalist (preferably female or black, or better yet for
PC brownie points: a female, black, lesbian liberal journalist, the one being pitched off the
roof (caution: spoiler).
2. Even Kevin Spacey’s formidible talents won’t be able to overcome what I suspect will become
a preachy paean of fake liberalism that will infuse itself into the scripts.
3. What made the British version brilliant was that at least there was some attempt to distribute
the patent scumbagism among the left, though, merely sprinkled, not doused. What was
great about Richardson was the secret ingredient of all great actors in similar roles:
he make being reprehensible likable.
Good luck Spacey, it’s your ball.
Based on one of the best, maybe the best, BBC series of the last twenty five years.
Better than Downton Abbey? Then it must be incredible.
Kevin Spacey is my favorite actor ~ I think he is amazing ~ so I can’t wait for this to begin. <3
I saw all 13 episodes on Netflix when it first came out on the first. Kevin spacey nailed it!!!!! He is so convincing in this role. It was made for him. cant wait for the next thirteen. I rate it as good or better than the Hatfields & Mccoys series this year.
