President Obama will be in Los Angeles on Wednesday for a quick visit with Jay Leno, the White House announced today. Two days after the last Presidential debate set for tonight, Obama’s appearance on The Tonight Show will come in the middle of a multi-state campaign swing that will see the incumbent in Iowa, Colorado, California and Nevada. This is only the second time Obama has come to LA since he took office in 2009 without attending a fundraiser here. Obama has been to LA 13 times since he entered the White House. Wednesday’s visit with Jay Leno will be Obama’s fifth on the NBC late-night show and the third since taking office It is also his first time back in LA since the 30 Days To Victory Concert And Dinner fundraisers October 7. The Leno appearance also comes one day before Michelle Obama is in town for a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live and a fundraiser at Will Smith’s house. The First Lady was last on Leno in August, giving the show a ratings bump.
Mitt Romney has not visited late-night TV in recent months, but his wife Ann made her solo Tonight Show debut on September 25. This election season has seen both Obamas on several shows from The View and Live With Kelly & Michael to Late Show With David Letterman as well as the president’s visit last week to The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

President’s spend 2 years governing and 6 years campaigning. The country is on fire do we really need another Leno visit?
The President is elected to a 4 year term. Might want to re think your math.
You obviously don’t get what auteur55 was saying but that’s okay. You’re one of those ignorant low information voters Chuck Todd talks about.
I think the OP is referring to Obama campaigning from 2006 when he was just the jr senator.
Desperation breeds Desperation…… I’m sure Obama doesn’t have anything better to do. I can’t wait till we are rid of this man.
Is Obama the President or a celebrity? This is ridiculous!
Unfortunately, Obama is neither…and, this is ridiculous.
Maybe the prez is a real guy: likes getting out of the house.
Jesus, does this guys EVER stop with the variety show visits?!?!? When does he govern?
Nothing is happening in Washington right now. Congress is home to campaign for their districts. There is a presidential election going on. Other than keeping up with what is happening day to day, there really is nothing to govern at the moment. This time is set aside every two years to give the elected officials in Washington a chance to get out and meet the people they are working for all the time. This is nothing new.
Wow. As wrong as it’s possible to be. Or did nobody tell al qaeda in Libya about this break?
Is the POTUS just a figurehead, or does he actually spend any time IN the Oval Office?
P.S. Eastwood’s debacle with Obama’s empty chair is beginning to make sense.
It looks like he’s auditioning for a new gig – TV show, talk show, whatever. Really desperate and pathetic.
No, cliches are what’s desperate – - that and empty.
He’ll be on QVC next. Or guest judging on DWTS.
Maybe he can use his pardon powers to pardon the last few people voted off DWTS.
Thats interesting. I thought Jay Leno retired.
If your first term was such a success, why the continual desperate appearances on all these talk shows. Why not let your record speak for itself?
Ah, cmon. Let’s get real. Are you sure he’s not going to attended even a few fundraisers, and leave with his carpetbag full of cash?
Would be nice if he’d head to the White House and do some actual work for a change.
Is it really surprising that Obama goes on these talk shows? Think about it. All the time, celebs go on them to make their latest craptastic movie sound appealing to everyone, thanks to softball questions from the host(s). Going on talk shows is the easiest way for Obama to campaign and have a huge opening weekend – er, voter turnout.
Y’all are talking as though no other president has ever been on the campaign trail before, stumping on TV. “Why isn’t he in the White House, doing his job?” is one of the most unimaginatively partisan questions anybody could ask in the months leading up to a national election.
That said, Obama constantly coming to LA to hit his “Hollywood ATM” is exhausting. But you can bet that if Romney wins the election, then in 4 years he’s going to be in Salt Lake City every other weekend, hitting up HIS “ATM”!
It’s all the same, folks, no matter who’s in charge. Politics is politics. Quit the Internet ranting and spend some time with your loved ones tonight.
Mr President. Of the United States of America in your fisrt campaign for President, i recall your slogan being “Yes we can”, what did you mean by “yes we can” and how dificult is it to reach out to others to feel the same spirit of that slogan, and do you feel the contry’s pledge of alligence should be re-evaluated mainly the to the republic for which it stands. part)
