After topping the list of Live+7 gains with a big 2.3 18-49 rating lift, NBC’s new series Revolution received more good ratings news this morning. The futuristic drama reversed its ratings downtrend since the premiere with a 3.4/9 in adults 18-49 last night, up 13% from last week (10% from its fast national last Monday) to match its best Live+Same Day demo rating since the series debut. Its lead-in, The Voice (4.8/12), held steady, up a tenth from its fast national last week and even with the final. NBC extended its Monday winning streak among 18-49 to four weeks.
ABC’s Dancing With The Stars (2.1/5) was even with its fast national last Monday, down a tenth from the final, while Castle (2.0/5) was down 9% in 18-49 while hitting a season high in total viewers (10.9 million). ABC won the night in total viewers.
Once again CBS’ Monday fast nationals were likely inflated by an NFL pre-emption in San Diego. Last week, all Monday series were adjusted down between one and three tenths in the finals, so the current modest week-to-week gains for How I Met Your Mother (3.2/9, +3%), Partners (2.1/6, +11%), Mike & Molly (3.0/7, up 7%) and Hawaii Five-0 (2.0/5, up 5%) are questionable. Surprisingly, even with the football preemption, 2 Broke Girls (3.3/8) was down a tenth from last week.
Ratings for Fox’s NLCS baseball continue to be soft. Reliable, time zone-adjusted numbers will be available later today but in the fast nationals, Game 2 drew a 1.3 rating in 18-49, down 32% from the slow Game 1 on Sunday.
The CW’s 90210 (1.1 million total viewers, 0.7/2 in 18-34, 0.6/2 in 18-49) rebounded from its soft season opener last Monday, up 13% in total viewers and two tenths each in 18-34 and 18-49. Gossip Girl (760,000; 0.6; 0.4) was flat.

I think its time networks to get it and gamble ot take a risk with young uknown actors. I mean last year 2 broke girls both actress at same age 26 years old. New girl lead actress 30 years old. Once upon a time again leading actress around 25-30 years old . Now Revelotion young male and female around 25 years old. Revenge young female lead around 25 years old. ALL successful shows in last 2 years are with young lead faces. Yes in most cases they are surounded wuth experience emmy award level actors but still. If we add jennifer lawrence success with hunger games may be you get it why CBS shows with same old faces are so much down.
Can’t CBS find something better than “Partners?” A show that is actually funny, perhaps?
What I don’t understand is why soo many people continue to bag on “Partners”, a show that’s actually very funny if you take the time to watch it…but let’s be honest, you’re not watching it, are you Martin? Michael Urie is a sitcom star and he has outstanding chemistry with David Krumholtz. Brandon Routh has impressed me greatly with his timing and delivery and Sophia Bush is holding her own considering she’s surrounded by talented comedic actors. So here’s the deal…maybe you watched the pilot and didn’t like it, that’s fine! Understand that NOBODY is forcing you to watch…and unless you’re a Nielsen’s family member then it doesn’t matter if you watch! I can only assume that you’re not watching anymore because you hate it so much… maybe because you’re a big Dancing With The Stars fan and you’re upset that they tied last night in the demo, or you’re a little homophobic, or you’re eagerly awaiting the return of RULES OF ENGAGEMENT…whatever the case may be, is it really making you feel better to hate on it? Maybe it’s time to find a new hobby! I personally will continue to watch because despite what you say or what critics are saying this show is solid and it makes me laugh! Thank you and have a pleasant tomorrow!
the Martin Lawrence abandonned project for exemple ?
I’m glad revolution is gainig this expanding audience. The post-apocalypse genre isn’t explored enough, falling skies and walking dead are decent, but series’ like revolution will truly pave the way for others.
Revolution’s plot is becoming really formulaic. Especially last nights episode where they make it off the train… yadda yadda yadda… they have to go to Philly. I like it that no one is dirty and everyone is still in shape and looks like they smell good. Contrast this to The Walking Dead, where it looks like they all smell like a decaying foot.
Brian, your comment is exactly why I stopped watching Revolution! It may not seem like much but the fact that the actors are hardly ever dirty or sweaty and the lead has curls and noticable makeup takes me out of the story and makes me too aware that they are acting. It’s really distracting… not to mention ridiculous!
I’ve been recording Revolution on my PVR since it started, but haven’t watched it yet. Why? Because I was worried about it not being picked up or being canceled right off the bat. I love “serial” series, but so often they get canceled early on that this time I decided I wasn’t going to bother watching it until I knew that it would be sticking around for at least awhile, to make it worth my time watching.
Now that it seems to be on solid footing and not in danger of getting the axe, I’ll start catching up on it.
Revolution is AMAZING. Each episode is better than the last one. NBC did well, with this show, strong cast and interesting plot , that is what makes a hit. I am not surprised the show got even better numbers this week than last one.
CBS last year got inflated numbers until Christmas because of Asthon K. replacing Charlie. Then they had no competition from NBC. So with both things out , their shows don’t look that great anymore, But 2BG , HIMYM and Mike&Molly are still pulling good numbers, over 3 demos. Partners , and Hawaii Five 0 are cbs weakest links there, Hawaii numbers are terrible considering it had a 3 lead in,
Hawaii five 0 should never be behind mike and Molly… Theirs just no mesh so a lead in from something totally different isn’t gonna help or hurt ratings… It should be behind ncis la
Would love for someone to give the writers room the news that they are a hit, cause these storylines aren’t.
Heroe’s-we-go-again!
Man, I really hope CBS puts How I Met Your Mother to bed after this season. The show has NO idea what it’s doing anymore. We had all the buildup about Ted and Victoria getting together, and they barely appear on screen together. The show is such a let down now.
2 Broke Girls is terrible. Agreed on putting How I Met Your Mother to sleep. I love the show, but enough is enough. Leave with a shred of dignity if that’s at all possible!
Revolution is fast-paced, action packed and has intrigue. Always have loved swordplay
I don’t understand the love for Revolution. It’s one of the worst written and acted shows I have seen in years, but maybe different = good in a lot of people’s minds.
