The CW has given a full-season order to breakout drama Arrow after two strong airings. Arrow‘s series premiere drew 4.14 million viewers, making it the network’s most-watched telecast of any show on any night in three years, and the CW’s most-watched series premiere since The Vampire Diaries in 2009. In its second outing, Arrow became the only new network drama this season to hold its ratings in both adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 from its premiere to its second week. “Our strategy of rolling out our new fall schedule later in the year really paid off for The CW on several levels, especially with Arrow“, said CW president Mark Pedowitz.

While Arrow‘s pickup has been a no-brainer, the jury is still out on the prospects of CW’s other two new fall series, Beauty And The Beast and Emily Owens, MD. Beauty got off to a sold start but dropped significantly in Week 2, while Emily Owens got off to a soft start last week. Arrow is produced by Berlanti Prods. and Warner Bros TV with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg.

Congrats! One of my favorite shows this year. Pilot had some bite and some unexpected twists and turns. Both male and female viewers want an adventure and action. Arrow definitely delivers.
Well done, CW. Keep em coming!

Susannah and Colin are both great characters.
Can’t wait to watch the upcoming episodes.
That’s what happens when you blatantly and shamelessly copy the shots, structure, and feel of a successful movie. I swear to the god that doesn’t exist if batman begins didn’t exist The arrow would have nothing going for it. Don’t believe me Dealine snarkers? Watch batman begins then the first two episodes of the arrow.
ZOMG!!!!! they copied a successful movie franchise…..THE HORROR!!!!
If that were the case, wouldn’t every show that copies movies would be a big hit?
CW’s best show in years. Congrats.
Good show. I like it. Congrats on the pickup!
Good show. Good choice for Lead Actor. Charismatic guy. But both young actresses are awful. His potential love interest and his sister… So bad. So forgettable. I can’t remember their faces. Two episodes and if I will see them in another show I will not recognize them.
Middle school hallways across the US are rejoicing!
Great show. Congrats to Greg, Mark and gang. I hear the editors are pretty cool too.
I’m totally glad that Arrow got a full season order cause its one of the superheroes I really dont know that much about! Ever since Smallville had its series finale in May of 2011 I’ve been hoping, waiting & wanting a new superhero show to watch!
Good news. As a kid, The Green Arrow was one of my favorite DC comics heroes. I am glad based on the first outing, that the storyline is not a family themed watered down version of the hero.
In 2012, the hero has to be a bad w#% ithout being totally over the top to keep the story moving and people watching. It seems they picked a good actor to play the lead, Oliver Queen.
In the comics, Oliver in the public eye was like Bruce Wayne (Batman), a wealthy playboy who was above all of the ills of his city because nothing mattered but the next party and other pleasures unlimited wealth can provide. It will be interesting to see if they go with this or portray him as a loner who has no time for parties because his mission against crime and the legally untouchable is all he cares about.
I am glad this show will get an entire season to play with the storyline. Hopefully, it will be worth the trip for viewers.
Congrats to Greg, Andrew, Marc and the gang including Stephen, Katie, Colin, Wilia and the others. The show is really great. Well deserved !
