CBS Television Distribution has signed a deal with Yahoo to combine their celebrity/entertainment news entities The Insider and omg!, respectively. Under the deal, CTD’s syndicated entertainment newsmagazine The Insider
will be renamed omg! Insider in January 2013 to become “a multiplatform entertainment news series.” Kevin Frazier and Brooke Anderson will continue to host the TV show, as well as such Yahoo talent as Kristen Aldridge (omg! NOW) and Michael Yo (The Yo Show on Yahoo!). In addition, Yahoo!’s omg! entertainment news site, visited by nearly 30 million users each month, will be the exclusive home to video provided by the TV show. Online, Yahoo’s omg! will provide continually updated coverage, including video clips, celebrity interviews, photo galleries, editorial and several interactive social features. On air each evening, the TV show will offer a mix of informal in-studio conversations with celebrities and personality-driven discussions around the day’s hottest topics and trends.
This marks one of the first major programming partnerships for Yahoo! under new CEO Marissa Mayer. “We’re thrilled to bring together two of today’s most popular entertainment news brands to create an ‘always-on’ content experience across TV, the Web and beyond,” she said.

Combining these two brands seems to signal that like The Insider will now be competing with Entertainment Tonight rather than being a companion show.
That’s the stupidest name I’ve ever heard. What a profoundly horrible rebranding idea.
The current name of the program is better left alone.
At least it’s not named omg! Now anymore. That was the stupidest name I’ve ever heard.
OMG! SCREAMS valley girl from Sherman Oaks. The Galleria mall is long shuttered. OMG is more like WTF now with urban dwellers who this show must reach to succeed.
congrats, omg staffers! so happy to see this show expanding for the talented, hard-working team over at yahoo! this is great. the insider takes itself way too seriously and no one watches it. it needs to be shaken up by these awesome girls. to be honest, girls love pop culture and discuss their favorite celebs. tmz is a sausage fest. it’s pretty funny to think harvey levin, the guy with the braids and the surfer dude do all the talking on that show! i’m sure they bro out over celeb news in real life…not.
OMG Insider is the most nauseating, cutesy program I’ve seen in a long time. The bantering back and forth on the set is so “rehearsed” sounding. I liked the format of the show much better before OMG got involved.
MOG IN
Seriously?
I hate the new format. Annoying new cohosts. Brin back The Insider with Brooke and Kevin!
