LOS ANGELES (October 31, 2012) – On the eve of the American Film Market, XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. rights to UNDER THE BED, the new horror/thriller from the producers of V/H/S and director Steven C. Miller (The Aggression Scale, the upcoming Silent Night). Starring Jonny Weston, the young star of Chasing Mavericks, and Gattlin Griffith (Green Lantern, Changeling), the film tells the story of two brothers who team up to battle the monster living under their bed. XLrator Media will release the film in theaters next summer. UNDER THE BED was produced by Brad Miska (V/H/S, A Horrible Way to Die), Tom Owen (V/H/S) and William Clevinger (The Devil’s Carnival, Automaton Transfusion) and executive produced by Zak Zeman (The Aggression Scale, A Horrible Way to Die) and Miller. Written by Eric Stolze, the film also stars Peter Holden, Musetta Vander and Kelcie Stranahan. The deal was negotiated by Ehud Bleiberg and Giulia Prenna on behalf of Bleiberg Entertainment and by Gordon on behalf of XLrator Media. Bleiberg Entertainment’s Compound B label will be handling international rights during AFM and recently sold German rights to Tiberius.

Sounds like this would be a great kids movie.
As a serious horror – it sounds silly.
UNDER THE BED killed at Screamfest- its time for somebody to give Steven Miller a real budget to make the awesome horror film we’ve been waiting for since AUTOMATON.
Movie is good, Weston is a terrible actor
I just saw an early screening of Silent Night, it was amazing!
I caught ‘Under the Bed’ at ScreamFest. Loved it!!!
I thought Weston is what made this movie stand out at screamfest. I can’t believe anyone would say he’s a terrible actor.
He’s a hip director. Definitely cool. Not so carbon copy like most in the genre like Saw and Paranormal Activity. Can’t wait to see what he does with a decent cast and a high concept project.
Good things happening for these producers today!
Miller is a wildly talented guy. He deserves his success because its born of hard, hard work.
I think Steven Miller should quit this horror thing and direct family movies.
Saw this at Screamfest this year. Fun premise, but it was the family dynamic that made it come together. The guy playing the dad was outstanding, and took the whole thing from whimsical horror to a level of actually being interesting. Terrific actor. Congrats to all involved.
Also saw it at Screamfest and was surprised. It was suspenseful (trying to stay spoiler free here) and while the story has points that sometimes stretch, the fact is, it was entertaining. I jumped a few times.
I’ll agree with the comment about the dad. (Peter Holden) He does a solid job of making the character feel real (what with all the shit that’s going on around him) and also has the best line of the flick.
As for the lead kid (Jonny Weston) he was fine. It’s a horror movie about two kids fighting a nasty-ass monster under a bed. Don’t over think it. It’s fun.
Congrats to them all.
