ABC’s The Marathon Times, from Warner Bros TV, is about the black sheep of a small town who gets rich overnight and buys out his family’s business, derailing the dreams of his sister. John Riggi is attached to executive produce with Chandrasekaran.
The Fox comedy, from 20th Century Fox TV and Chernin Entertainment, is set in the 1990s and centers on a young tax lawyer who quits his fast-paced job to follow a girl to a Columbia House-type company. Chandrasekaran is executive producing the project, which is in second position to The Marathon Times, with Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope.
Chandrasekaran, former Harvard Lampoon editor, was a strategy consultant at The Boston Consulting Group before becoming a comedy writer. He started off on NBC’s My Name Is Earl, where he worked for the entire run of the 20th TV-produced show. He spent the last three seasons on 30 Rock, most recently a supervising producer. Chandrasekaran, repped by UTA and Management 360, said that he decided not to return to the NBC comedy this year so he could focus on development full time and enjoy being newly married.
