The TV Academy has set September 22 as the date for for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. As part of the Big 4 network’s eight-year wheel deal, it is CBS‘ turn carrying the show next year. It will originate from the Emmys’ home, NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. Nominations for the 2013 Primetime Emmys will be announced Thursday, July 18 from the Academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. The last time CBS had the Emmys in 2009, they were hosted by How I Met Your Mother co-star Neil Patrick Harris.

The Primetime Emmy Awards should not be held on a Sunday night during the NFL season.
It could be the lowest-rated Primetime Emmy’s ever, especially if NBC’s Sunday-night NFL game is a top-notch marquee matchup between two popular teams (and I suspect NBC is already on the line to Roger Goodell asking him to schedule just such a game for that night).
More NPH hosting duties?
Yes, please.
How about Craig Ferguson
NPH, Craig Ferguson, or the cast of the BIG BANG THEORY. Yes, that last one would be a bit of gimmick, but with its ratings momentum, would you necessarily blame CBS for the decision? Something to think about…
how about one of the modern family members? Maybe Eric Stonestreet! Or Ed O Neil! Or Julie Bowen! they are really good!!!
