As ABC is nearing back episodic decision on new dramas Nashville (UPDATE: Nashville just received a full-season order), Last Resort and 666 Park Ave, I hear the network has ordered three additional scripts each of comedies Malibu Country and Last Man Standing. Both shows started the fall with 13-episode orders. Freshman Malibu Country and sophomore Last Man Standing launched only two weeks ago. Both had a great start in the Friday 8 PM slot before dropping double-digits in Week 2.

Really hoping for a Last resort renewal. It really is the best new show that no one is watching. Though it may be better to do 13 ep seasons.

Malibu Country is great. The cast works well together and it is a family, comedy show. We love Reba and we love the show. Hope ABC is not too quick to pull it .
Last Man standing is awful can’t watch after changing the daughter and the story of the daughter.. Removed it from my dvr.. STOP CHANGING CAST members of shows

Everyone at ABC should be fired for replacing the daughter on LAST MAN STANDING. They took a great and funny character and turned her into shit. Do they even know why people watch sitcoms? We watch them for consistency. So we get the same thing over and over again. I don’t want to order a Big Mac and have the burger replaced with a turd.

Yeah, recasting the daughter on Last Man Standing was a horrible move. But I still have hopes for the show. I like that they’re going for an All in the Family feel, but it needs to be funnier. Hire some writers who can write good political humor.
ABC missed a golden chance…when Roseanne’s blue collar new show was rejected by NBC. Paul Lee should have grabbed it and brought Roseanne (and John Goodman) back home to ABC where her blunt, to the point humor would have been a perfect time for her return with Political humor at election time.

Reba #2 is good, Lily & Sara are perfect supporting cast to Reba.
The daughter change on last man standing was a terrible move. Bring back the original actress. And there is to much of the baby’s father. It looks like they’re gonna get back together. The new actors and new storyline stinks and is hurting the show. I still watch hoping it will get back to its roots again but i’m fearful that it won’t. And also, they should use the middle daughter more. She’s really funny. Especially if they’re gonna keep this new actress as the oldest daughter. But they really should bring the first girl back.
Fantastic news for both shows. Both are off to great starts and I hope they only grow fom here. If ABC snags a couple of top notch multicams, this fall to go with these two, that can only help them(Too bad they don’t have a ‘Roseane’, and/or a ‘Family Matters’ or ‘My Wife & Kids’ waiting in the wings. And I love the new girl on Last Man Standing, her “meatball” ex, and the whole “ALl In The Family” vibe. They are nailing it!!!
I’m feeling the same about the replacement of the daughter on LMS. What a disappointment! I liked the last season and the storyline but this season, and I’ve only seen the first episode, it sucks. Bring back the waitress daughter with the baby and drop the boyfriend. I’m not sure if I want to watch the next episode. If its not broken don’t fix it. If I wanted to watch All In The Family…guess what? Scratch this off my list of faves. And I was actually waiting for this season to start.
I really really hate the new daughter and the idiot boyfriend. Archie and meatbead was 40 years ago. Please pull the plug on this really bad season 2. You blew it and ruined a really good show
Homosexuals in every comedy series is getting pretty disgusting. There just aren’t that many queers proportionately to the rest of the population. Seems like you either need a queer or a lesie

Big mistake changing the actress who plays the part of Kristin on Last Man Standing, can hardly watch the show.
Not a huge fan of Last Man, but had to watch last season for political reasons. The casting change is incomprehensible, and the new direction feels desperate and half-baked. They had some talented people working this: sad it turned into such a mess.
I agree with the comments about re-casting the Kristin character on “Last Man Standing.” Supposedly they did it because they wanted to age-advance the Boyd character to 5 years old, and Alexandra Krosney didn’t look old enough to have a 5-year old. Weak, but there you have it.
Im also very upset about the cast change…on a previous post i read that they were trying to make boyd 5 and she didn’t look of age to have a 5 year old son….WELCOME to the 21st century how many teen moms are there who had baby’s at 17 or 18..like they said in the first season she had got pregnant on prom old kristen was much better actor and better fit for the show…i hope they bring her back way easier to look at also
I am so sad that the folks in charge of the direction of Last Man Standing chose to model season 2 in the direction of All in the Family rather than maintain the model of Home Improvement. I look to comedy shows for entertainment and relaxation rather than droning on with deeper meanings and social issues. Oh and did we not get enough of politics in real life? Very sad but I have to stop watching this show. COMEDY = funny. Last Man Standing = Not funny. Oh well, season 1 was good at least.
Last Man Standing was a great show last year but now 3 episodes into the new season with new cast members that don’t fit the show and now trying to be some kind of edgy 70′s sitcom they have ruined it. The original oldest daughter was a much better fit for the show. Episode 3 do the writers really think white and black people have that much trouble being friends? What an insult. I have deleted Last Man Standing from my Hulu favorites.
Last Man Standing is definetly heading in the wrong direction right now. They really messed up the vibe of the show replacing the actress that played the oldest daughter and bringing the dad character into the story line to often. Sad part is I don’t know how they could fix it at this point without doing a cheesy dream sequence or something; but, I would take it over their current course.
I could not agree more with the comments on LMS. The writers took it from a funny show that I looked forward to watching and turned it into a show I will no longer watch. If I want political/racial commentary from the writers I will ask them for it. Until then get off your soapbox and return the show to its original format. If they don’t, I predict this will be the last season. What a disappointment.
I liked Last Man Standing, and I still do, but not as much as the first season. The new actor for Kristin looks like an old bag, and isn’t funny. The kid looks like he aged 4 years in a few months, and they removed the “Outdoor Man” part, which was a very risky move that didn’t work. I fear they won ‘t renew it again thanks to the screewriter’s stupidity.
LMS is terrible now thanks to recasting and the new showrunner. The new politically conscious older daughter and her bleeding liberal boyfriend have sucked the funny out of the show. Mike is now a right-wing jerk in the Archie Bunker mold and it sucks.
Is it just me, or did Last Man Standing get racist, political AND a little raunchy this season? I liked last season…this season??? Disgusted! Tim Allen’s character has gone too far!
What the heck happened to this show? Yeah, it might have been a pedestrian family sitcom last year, but it was entertaining and enjoyable. Now it seems to be some sort of not-so-subtle right wing political rant? I know Tim Allen is a republican, and that is all good and well, but this really is not the venue for it. In it’s current incarnation, the show won’t last long. I am going to look for something else to watch on Friday nights.
Someone forgot to tell the writers on Last Man Standing that Obama won. America chose and the show is quite sickening with its guns, fracking and racist crap. Reba is a good show, I hope she does not go down with the Tim Allen ship.
