Warner Bros shifted the sci-fi pic action from a March 14, 2014 wide release to March 7, 2014. The Doug Liman-directed All You Need Is Kill stars Tom Cruise as an inexperienced soldier dropped into a war against a brutal alien race who winds up in a time loop reliving the same battle over and over. He learns enough from each repetition to become more formidable against the invaders. The release-date change for the Warner Bros-Villiage Roadshow pic moves it off the date of Disney’s Angelina Jolie movie Maleficent.

Source Code 2. Awesome.
So this is different from SOURCE CODE because….
Oh it stars Tom Cruise…
Yeah, this will surely be on my to-see list….NEVER.
All You Need Is Kill was published in 2004. Source Code came out in 2011.
Right, because that premise offers no freedom for originality within the framework of a time loop. Afterall, everyone knows that Source Code was just the unofficial sequel to Groundhog Day. They’re pretty much identical films……..
I couldn’t agree more, Jay.
And weren’t these same idiots calling “Source Code” a rip-off of “Quantum Leap.”
It sounds about as exciting as watching someone else play video games.
Bill Murray would have killed in that role…
Cruise looks ridiculous in that promo still, like a chipmunk wearing armor. Also, at 50, isn’t he a little too old for an “inexperienced soldier”?
Shhhhhhhhhhhh, don’t point out the obvious. Hopefully the masses won’t notice and will still go.
As much as I love Tom Cruise as an actor and as excited as I am to see this movie, I completely agree that the promo still looks incredibly silly.
Please change the title.
Voice of Reason asked…
“Please change the title.”
Okay.
‘Groundhog Slay’
Better?
Dammit I posted this before and I’ll do it again: this is a rip off of Joe Haldeman’s “The Forever War” ! (It’s very interesting that rumor has it Ridley Scott has waitied 25 years to film the book, although this was mentioned in 2010.)
Great sci-fi authors always have their books ripped off. Harlan Ellison has been ripped off numerous times. Haldeman will file a lawsuit against this movie a year from now right before it opens so he can get the maximum amount of money for copyright infringement if he can prove they really stole his book’s story.
What? Have you read “Forever War?” It’s a COMPLETELY different storyline!
Chipmunks wearing armor are big business at the multiplex…
