The 1970s-set drama stars Alan Cumming and Garret Dillahunt as a gay couple who take on a biased legal system in a fight to adopt a mentally handicapped teenager they’ve rescued from a bad home. Travis Fine directed and co-wrote Any Day Now with George Arthur Bloom, and Music Box acquired it in September after it shared the Audience Award this spring at Tribeca. It’s due out December 14.

Saw this last night at a WGA screening. So good. Haven’t been that moved by a film in a long time. Trailer reads a little commercial and upbeat compared to what the movie actually is. It’s a must see.
That synopsis sounds like one of the fake Oscarbait films in Tropic Thunder. Hope it’s good, though.
Hero gay couple save teenager with downs from evil Republican parents who were renting him out as a speed bump, it’ll sweep all the award shows including the “Country Music Awards” which will be a first….and likely the last.
Hey “Loved It”, since you saw the movie can you tell me where this takes place? I am having a hard time placing Alan Cummings accent. Thanks
Looks really good, like “Precious”-good..
It’s set in Los Angeles, but Alan’s character is from Queens, NY.
I saw this at the WGA too and was a puddle of tears by the end. A wonderful film with stellar performances. My vote for Best Film for the Independent Spirit Awards for sure! An absolute MUST SEE!
Okay, I got a little ferklempt. I know it’s a little obvious but the trailer works.
I hope this movie gains some momentum in the upcoming weeks. Alan is fantastic in this movie, and really deserves recognition for it.
thanks for making me cry.
The same Travis Fine who was in The Young Riders=my mind blown. (in a good way)
