EXCLUSIVE: CBS has tweaked the full-season orders to freshmen Elementary and Vegas as the network is firming up its scheduling needs for the rest of the season. Elementary, the stronger between the two rookies, is getting two extra episodes for a 24-episode season. Elementary just landed the coveted post Super Bowl slot, and one of additional episodes accounts for that. Vegas‘ order has been trimmed from 22 to 21 episodes.

There are about 50 other shows I’d recommend before that.

No, sorry, but Sherlock is the best show on TV. Elementary is yet another American rip-off. Sure, it’s pretty good, and better than most of the crap on broadcast TV. But if you like Elementary, try the much much better Sherlock.
American rip-off? Yes, because a modern day Sherlock Holmes is such an original idea!
Oh would Sherlock fans stop? It’s just ridiculous. WE ALL LOVE Sherlock. But you know what? Sherlock has like 3 episodes in year!!! We watched it in three weeks and then what? Wait another 11 months? We do wait.
But if there are another 20 episodes of interesting as well Elementary’s Sherlock then why would we not watch it and like? Why is this somehow girl fight for death between Sherlock and Elementary? I like both shows. I was skeptic at first, i didn’t like the idea of Watson as woman too. But then I watched first episode and I liked it.
No one is taking british Sherlock’s shadow. It doesn’t mean that I found out about NSYNC and forgot Backstreet Boys and quit buying their music. Pardon, I meant Sherlock and Elementary
It’s just so funny to me every time when I read something like: “Elementary will never be as good as Sherlock!” It’s not trying to steal success from british show.
Without a doubt – and dispite the snarky attacks by Sherlock fans who are jealous – Elementary with Jonny Lee Miller is a hit. And it shall continue to be a hit with U.S. audience for seasons to come.
Agree with Stan, Elementary is top notch.
Not only is Elementary the best show on TV, it is the best new version of House anyone could have come up with. Quirky, troubled expert solves quirky oft-putting cases, with female superior who is put in place to keep a watchful eye over him.
And don’t forget the sexual tension.

Lucy Liu is repulsive. I cannot watch that show, which is pretty much The Mentalist without good characters or likable actors.
Trimming any episode is not a good sign.
Vegas trim probably a result of the nightmare non-writing EP’s.

I hear more about ‘Guys With Kids’ and ‘Neighbors’ then I do about a show starring Dennis Quaid.

Elementary is most assuredly the best new show of the season. Johnny Lee Miller is brilliant and I look forward to his character development.
Elementary will be lucky to make it to April….it sucks! CBS has to fill time slots, and has spent millions trying to shove this piece of s#@t down viewers throats (hence, the time slot following the Super Bowl). It won’t work!
VEGAS is a fantastic show, but I cannot tell you how much I look forward to a new episode of ELEMENTARY every week. The first episode bugged me because JLM talked so fast and so quiet that I couldn’t understand what he was saying. But, since then, I have enjoyed it IMMENSELY. And, sorry, though I LOVE U.K. Mysteries, Police Dramas, etc., SHERLOCK is one show that I do NOT care for (and my friends don’t either).
Count me amongst those who think Elementary is unappealing. As predicted it is, however, a hit for CBS and will be with us for a long time to come. I won’t get snobbish by saying the BBC’s Sherlock is far superior.
I love Vegas. Not bothered by the episode cut. Focusing resources towards the existing episode order is better quality control.

Trust someone to insult Americans and use the term “dumb down” to not know that the contraction to you are is “you’re” not your. Learn some English, please. Learn some punctuation, too. One long run-on sentence. And House should be capitalized. And the correct title is “House, MD.” What were you complaining about and insulting again?

I like “Elementary” but wish it preceded “Person of Interest” rather than follow it. The former is a lighter show. Johnny Lee Miller is a fascinating Sherlock and rightfully carries the show. As Watson, Lucy Liu is like a background chorus commenting on what is happening on stage. She could be a hologram and her performance would work the same way. It’s good that CBS is keeping the show and letting its audience grow.
Johnny Lee Miller is doing a good job as Sherlock Holmes but the writing team have screwed themselves a bit. They have made Sherlock over sympathetic as opposed to the cold, calculating man he is meant to be. This is a man who doesn’t care to know if the earth is flat or round because it doesn’t affect him so why would he care if he offends someone by being direct?
Lucy Liu isn’t up to scratch either. She needs to die in the season cliff hanger leaving Sherlock to turn back to drugs and then they can find a proper Watson.
Lucy Liu is a big draw to this show, and created a lot of buzz.

Elementry is a dredful show and they want more episodes. Vegas beats them by a long shot. I can’t beleive what the networks have pulled. I’m hope Vegas beats Elemetry by a landslide in the ratings and longevity, of show.
Elementary has zero relation to Sherlock Holmes aside from the names. The characters are so far off from the original mythos that it’s appauling. Cash in on those names, CBS. Crap all over a great story. The writers should be ashamed.
