(Los Angeles, CA; November 12, 2012) — Cinedigm Entertainment Group, a division of Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. (NASDAQ: CIDM), has acquired North American distribution rights to writer-director Geoffrey Fletcher’s VIOLET & DAISY, which world premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival. Fletcher recently earned the Cinevation Award for his work on VIOLET & DAISY at the 2012 Savannah Film Festival. Cinedigm’s theatrical distribution will commence in 2013, with subsequent roll out across on-demand, digital and DVD.
VIOLET & DAISY stars Saoirse Ronan (HANNA) and Alexis Bledel (GILMORE GIRLS) as two young, pop culture-obsessed assassins in New York City who accept what they think will be a quick and easy job until an unexpected target, played by James Gandolfini, throws their plan into chaos. The film is Oscar®-winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher’s (PRECIOUS: BASED ON THE NOVEL PUSH BY SAPPHIRE) directorial debut. Fletcher produces with John Penotti and Bonnie Timmermann.
The filmmakers were represented in the negotiation by GreeneStreet Films and CAA, and for Cinedigm by Scordino.

This movie sounds awful. Female-led actioners, whether comedy or otherwise, are always guaranteed box-office duds, with the exception of tween fangirl crap like Twilight or the Hunger Games.
You must be an expert, huh? I will watch Gandolfini in anything. You just hate women because of your lack of success with them, I suspect.
Hey Firebrand,
If you can’t play nice, at least try to get your facts straight.
With the exception of Sucker Punch, which “female-led actioners” have NOT made money in recent memory? Look at Tomb Raider, Charlie’s Angels, Resident Evil, Twilight, Kick-Ass, Hanna, Underworld, Hunger Games and so on. Most of those films spawned sequels or have them in the works.

I thought this was going to be a pretty major movie when it came together in the golden haze of “Precious”. guess not.
Cool beans. I just saw this at the Savannah Film Festival and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
Hey filmplatter
I was curious why you haven’t stop thinking about this film? I haven’t seen it,well few people have. So,did you found it to be a
good film in general or was there something special you can share with us? thanks Leo
