The CW‘s Nikita has been struggling in its new Friday 9 PM slot, dropping to a dismal 0.2/1 in 18-49 and 793,000 viewers two weeks ago. The network is looking to shake things up by shifting the action drama back to its old Friday 8 PM berth. According to advance TV listings, Nikita‘s first airing in the new (old) 8 PM slot will be on November 30. It will be followed by a repeat of freshman breakout Arrow. Nikita currently airs behind America’s Next Top Model, whose season finale airs November 16. (The CW has holiday specials slated for Friday, November 23.)

You know what would also help the ratings? If the CW would promote shows that aren’t TVD.
Or it could have to do with their switch from a serial format to an episodic one. While I can understand why they would think that this would serve to attract new viewers, it also makes it too easy to skip the show for a week in the full knowledge that you won’t miss an important plot point. I miss the insane, wonderful, over the top, enjoyably convoluted storylines of previous seasons, and hope that they’ll return to that format.
The show already was a procedural from episode one.
“Nikita” is only suffering from bad promotion and a lousy time slot

Hate to say it but it’s always a bad idea to invest too much time getting into the habit of watching a CW show (except for Supernaturals). You never know if it’s gonna survive another season.
It would help if it were a better show.
Jamie. Nikita is not a new show its in it 3rd season now and its a teriffic show everybody should watch full of action and suspence its the Best action show on tv. Its better than Arrow.

Liking Arrow but Nikita is better! It’s definitely due to lack of promotion and bad time slot. After all it is considered one of the best scripted shows and an unknown/hidden gem.
Good call on the CW’s part. That means Nikita’s no longer competing with Fringe and Grimm, two fellow genre shows (and Grimm is a beast by Friday standards), and Arrow is also an action show so even its repeats will work better with Nikita than Top Model.
I really love NIKITA. But is it just me, or is this a show that looks more like one that would be more at home on Fox (like “Prison Break”) rather than on the C/W ?
The problem isn’t the show, it’s the network. This show is on a network that airs shows like 9O21O, Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie and Supernatural. It just doesn’t fit/belong there. Critics praise this show from every direction but the tiny demographic that CW attracts is not the least bit interested.
I’m grateful that it’s still on the air, however, this show is just a victim of poor execution by idiotic executives on a dying network.
