NBC News anchor Brian Williams went on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman tonight to talk about last night’s election coverage — the polls, the results and Karl Rove’s reaction to Fox News Channel calling the race for Barack Obama. Here’s a preview:

Karl Rove was trying to avoid another 2000 Florida fiasco…. That’s not a bad thing, he wanted all the votes counted in a close state.
Did you see the stock market today? Dropped over 300 points, we’ve got bigger problems now than making fun of Karl Rove. Letterman and the bunch are going to start joking about the “worse off” economy now, right???? Right?
Are you kidding? He would have loved to create another fiasco in Florida and Ohio. That’s what he does. BTW – Projecting a winner after the polls have closed does not stop any vote counting. They get counted regardless.
The stock market has doubled under Obama.
The drop in the stock market was in reaction to the lack of a mandate from either party, which means more gridlock, not because Obama was re-elected. The market wouldn’t have gone down had the Democrats also taken the house, or if Romney was elected.
By the way this is not simply my opinion but from Wall Street experts.
Fuck the stock market. I remember in the 80′s every time there were plant closings and massive layoffs, the stock market would skyrocket. So, to me, from experience, rising stock market equals the workers are screwed and falling stock market equals things are looking better for the working man and woman.
Somebody should be ripping Williams for his litany of inane comments last night as he made an ass of himself in order to hear the sound of his own voice. Like when he referred to those running for Senate as “a subset of the population.” cuz I guess that was the best way to describe Senatorial candidates his vapid brain could come up with. There were plenty of others, but that one really made me want to slap him.
I miss the old David Letterman who wasn’t so political. Years ago on Larry King’s radio program, a caller asked Dave why he didn’t delve into politics on his NBC show, and he responded by saying that it wasn’t an appropriate forum for that topic. I wish he still held to that standard.
It’s depressing to watch this video: Williams seems more like the “funny” one.
Brian Williams is embarrassing – they have yet to run any follow story on Libya and the 4 des Americans. Nice of him to go on Letterman to celebrate their contributions to Xobdmas
Holy crap! Who’s the angry old white man behind the desk?
Too much swarm for me. I left Dave years ago and Brian is just a simpleton.
