Oy, what an embarrassing (or was it charming?) bromance by both late-night hosts Wednesday while Jimmy Kimmel Live is filming in Brooklyn:

embarrassment? what interview did you watch? this was so funny and charming. we got to see dave in a new light. and jimmy did a remarkable job with him. can’t believe the two sat down together!! awesome. whoever writes your out of touch copy needs to retire.
I really enjoyed this. Both kimmel and Letterman were at their best here. I am so grateful Dave played it straight, and eschewed his glib, aw-shucks routine. He has seriously lost his comedic credibility over the last decade, but hr regained some of it here. The biting hipster was replaced by the graceful grandpa. A lot of teenage boys worshipped Letterman in the 1980s – Kimmel was just one of them. I loved how he brought in the photographs. It was so genuinely touching that it disarmed Dave, like defusing a bomb by cutting the correct wire before the thing has time to tick. As we approach next week’s election, where everything is artifice, unreality, and endless spin, this showbizzy interview seemed that rarest of things: real.
Beautifully stated!
Sorry Josh but I kind of disagree. After skipping Dave’s show for a few years I have rediscovered him. Dave is still sharp, funny, and more open and compassionate after the heart thing and the cheating scandal. Plus, he has discovered his political side. I am one of those kids that worshiped Dave in the 80′s and 90′s. Long live Dave.
This was genuine, sincere and fantastic. Loved it.
Two of the best guys in the game. Lovely interview and nice to see someone meet their hero whilst on the same level
Agree 100%. First the Chevy racist scandal, now this.
Beyond excruciating! DL is just such a weird guy…I thought Jimmy tried quite hard, but D is sooooo not worth his praise or effort! Isn’t DL the host who insists the guests never touch him cos of his bad back (but not the interns!) or won’t meet them before the show! Weirdo….
Very charming interview. Genuine and authentic. Two guys being nice, what’s wrong with that?
Both Kimmel and Letterman were hilarious! It was so fun to watch. Such professionals.
I have never commented on one of these sites before. Man, who are you people! Who would think this was anything other than honest & heartfelt? So what if Letterman is weird? Is he funny? Yes, for the most part. And he got to have his idol on his show when he was on top. How cool is that?
