AMC, Fox TV Studios and The Killing developer/executive producer Veena Sud are putting the team back together in anticipation of a formal green light for a third season of the mystery series to air on AMC and Netflix. Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, who served as co-executive producers in the first and second season, are expected to return as executive producers, and have started working with Sud on stories for Season 3.

Fox TV Studios already has the cast — including breakout stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman — locked in for Season 3, which made a resurrection of the series, cancelled by AMC in July, an easier proposition. The show has been talking to key behind-the-scene auspices, including Prestwich and Yorkin, to return, as Season 3 is eying a February production start. Veteran TV writer-producers Prestwich and Yorkin, who won a WGA Award for writing the pilot for CBS’ The Education Of Max Bickford, are with ICM Partners and Gendler & Kelly.

But the show was terrible after like 5 episodes…and the murder solved (kinda, more like last minute confessions)…so who the hell cares?!
They would do a DIFFERENT murder case. Honestly, it was really necessary for somebody to point this out to you?
Also, it bombed ratings wise at the end…CAUSE NO ONE CARED.
Does that mean that Mikkel Bondesen is not returning. Hallelujah.
I still want to seek Sarah and Holden in action, but the second season was so terrible, why put all the major players back in charge?
The show did well the first season. Enough for renewal. Unfortunately, they made the mistake of not ending it the first season and doing a new case.
If you stuck it out like I did, the show was pretty fun to watch.
Did you miss the last episode? She quit, she moved away. She was done.
Unless he stalked her…
U mad, bro?
They’re two terrific writers, producers, people.
Great news…
It was a fantastic series with some of the best acting on tv.
Can’t wait for Linden and Holder to be back on my screen
Dawn and Nicole are the best, great news for The Killing team!
So happy for Dawn and Nicole! Great writers! Great people!
What’s your issue with Mr. Bondesen?
Ugh – I remember when Yorkin and Prestwich ruined “Chicago Hope”.
My favorite show…Thank God it’s coming back!
Will be good to see this series come back. No series is perfect, but I loved the story and the characters.
I liked how the story did NOT wrap up neatly in the first season. The show was beat up over that, but I enjoyed that it went against the predictable end of the first season revealed and dragged it out. The red herrings were great. And seeing the characters evolve and in some cases devolve, was very well acted and written..
Season 1 was fantastic and Holder stole every scene in Season 2. I totally agree with Shaun Daily Las Vegas. This is great news.
Oh god. Bringing us the same rejects from season 2? I feel even worse about it’s prospects then ever before.
