The DreamWorks remake of the French-Canadian drama Starbuck has been slotted for an October 4, 2013 wide release. Vince Vaughn stars as an immature middle-age man who discovers he has fathered over 530 children throughout the years through sperm donations. When 142 of his offspring file a class-action lawsuit to reveal their Dad’s identity, he must decide whether he is going to become a real father. Original helmer Ken Scott returns to direct, as does producer Andre Rouleau.

As interesting as the project sounds, the fact that Vince Vaughn is in it makes me cringe. Don’t get me wrong, Vaughn is a great guy who has made great movies, but his recent flops have convinced me otherwise. I can’t tell if he’s just reaching the point in his life where his kind of comedy doesn’t sell as well compared when he was younger, or if it’s just his choice of films lately.
Also, this is an interesting choice for Disney………
Stop the voting, we have a winner in the Worst Concept of 2012 Contest.
And who exactly is the target audience for a Disney film about a sperm donor with a bunch of kids??
As the article clearly states it’s a DreamWorks film released through Disney (Probably Touchstone Studio most of the DreamWorks output is) War Horse was released under Touchstone not Disney.
I doubt it will be released under the “Disney Brand”
It’s a DreamWorks film. Disney is only distributing it, and you probably won’t see their name anywhere near the promotional materials.
There is no way I’m going anywhere near the Happy Meal of this movie.
