This really looks great. I can’t wait! I hope there is more of Shoshana this season.
Are you kidding, me? This is self-indulgent crapola nobody watches…
+1.
The boys are all jerks/losers no girl would put up with, and the “girls” are all annoying stereotypical hacks. I want to slap every character in the face.
OMFingG, I cannot wait. One the best shows on HBO … on TV. Better than SEX AND THE CITY!!! Go Lena, you rock – true talent!
Didn’t love the finale last year but love the show and this season looks really good.
wow, is this how low the bar has dipped? I saw the first three episodes last year. They sucked. This trailer is poorly acted, shot really drab, and not ONE utterance that’s funny, insightful, dramatic, or an intriguing call to watch the show. Jeebus it’s boring.
You’re not entirely wrong, but there were some moments of quality in there. I’m not sure it hits home for the male audience the way it does the female audience, and of course it is exaggerated for the sake of television, but my early twenties sure had some of the same feelings and behavior that the ladies of GIRLS portrayed. Except maybe the LSD induced naked sprint around New York.
This looks great! Huge fan of tiny furniture
I think Lena Dunham is smart and talented and I’m impressed with how much she’s achieved at such a young age.
That said, MY GOD DO I THINK THIS SHOW IS TERRIBLE. Considering breaking up with my girlfriend just so this show never comes on in my house again…
This show is awful it’s horrible. Surely 20-something women can do better than this. It’s garbage. There’s nothing smart or funny about it and Lena is guilty of self-indulgent narcissism in the extreme. Why such fervent desire to put Lena on such a pedestal? How is she the voice of her generation? If she really is then we are in big trouble as a society.
Okay bagging on Lena was last season! Let’s keep our criticism focused on our current favorite multi-hyphenated writer – actress – soon director: Mindy Kaling
Thanks!
Sheesh, her sappy Obama ad was more interesting than this. Safe to say Ms Dunham’s 15 minutes are almost up.
I stopped counting the coming of age cliches about 30 seconds in. Been here. Seen that.
Love the show. After the first couple of episodes it really grew on me. If only HBO paired it up with BORED TO DEATH. Apparently the network can only support so much quirkiness at any one time. (By the way, as a Bosom Buddies fan from its original run, I’m still open-mouthed at where Peter Scolari went with his GIRLS character last season. Just sayin’.)
Wonder how much the cast’s parents had to pay HBO for this mess to get a second season.
Can’t wait for all of the reasonable, respectful and calm discussions about Girls’ and Dunham’s merits to break out here!
HBO wants to claim these zeitgeist moments, but Girls has been only acclaimed by Gen X and above. As someone Lena’s age, and TV writer, I feel that this type of recreating life as art is anti-creative and when unstructured makes for sloppy undirected story telling.
No young savvy city-dwelling people in their 20s would give money for this show. Its biggest intrigue comes from HBO’s airing it, when the reality is that HBO should have a new show from an unestablished voice every year.
this post is embarrassing. You ramble and make no sense.
Yawn.
I like how the show is so culturally diverse this season! kudos to Lena Dunham! … oh.. wait… nevermind.
+1
My favorite comment.
+1 to all of that
Lena Dunham, Tina Fey, Diablo Cody. All with the same amount of haters. Very curious.
Is Elijah now a regular? I hated him at first, but then he won me over when he smacked Marnie in the face.
I think she’s a one-trick pony. She’s getting quite a lot out of that trick but if it weren’t for Apatow, she’d be an assistant at Slate.
