I guess it will never end.
from the heart of middle class america: fuck you hollywood. we’re sick of your sequels, reboots, and 3d gimmicks…
Fandango is probably selling out those 3D showings (at approximately $12 – $15 a ticket)…as we speak.
Can’t get enough of 2D to 3D conversion to satisfy the public craving. LOL
I really don’t get the hatred of 3D movies. Nobody is asking you to choose between 2D or 3D, yes, we’ve all seen the movie…many, many times. but 3D is just adding a little bit of something more that’s a bit cool, something fun. Yes, you’ll have to pay a bit more for a ticket (Oooh, Ahhh, shocker) and it’s a movie you’ve seen before. but you’re paying for an experience aren’t you? If that doesn’t sound fun, don’t go see it. Simple. but I do wish people would stop moaning about how good 2D is and how lame 3D is. When Television was first invented everyone was saying “Oh, radio is far superior, Nobody will want to sit watching a tiny screen” – In other words, give 3D a chance
Thank you!
Well said! I don’t expect great 3D effects but loved the idea… I’m a big fan of the movies and couldn’t watch them back then during their original release date, so if I get the chance to enjoy my ULTIMATE FAVORITE movie for the first time at the cinema, I say bring it on!
Great comment! I don’t understand why people have to be in such a bad mood. If you don’t like it, don’t go. I am super excited about this. 3D is not my favorite, it hurts my eyes, but its the movie back on the big screen that I am excited about. I have a 5 year old who loves any and everything dinosaur and I can’t wait to take him to see this. Relax people. Don’t be in such a bad mood.
No thank you for your post-converted cash grab.
This trailer is the living, breathing proof that with great directing and stunningly clear visuals you simply don’t need 3D. Never did. That’s what separates Steven Spielberg from other directors.
Seriously – don’t go all Michael Bay on your images, cramming thousands of layers and details and distracting crap into them. Keep your compositions crisp and your focus sharp, and you’ll see stunning results:
almost 20 years after its release 2D ‘Jurassic Park’ has more depth and more visual quality than most 3D monstrosities combined.
I loved this movie when it came out and still love it. But I don’t see the need for this. I just don’t. Spielberg, all you have is your legacy at this point. Try and preserve some of it, please…
I’m not a fan of 3D, however, I was quite young when it first hit theatres and would love to see it on the big screen once.
I agree with the reboot rerelease rehash comments. I wish Hollywood would stop messing with the things I love.
Bad ass.
“65 million years in the making…20 years in the trashing.” Do we really need to see a pile of stegosaurus poop in 3D?
I don’t think Spielberg was in favor of this but I don’t think he objected to it either. He probably figured let them do what they want with it I’ve made so much money from Universal over 40 years that if they want to make more money and give some more to me there’s no harm in it. He will be happier when he’s ready to make Jurassic Park 4 which I hope will be sensational.
As for this 3D release they won’t get my money. I loved seeing it opening weekend I sat through it twice it was so much fun. To quote Alan Grant: “They’re moving in herds. They do move in herds.” That was the best line in the movie because he saw with his own eyes that his theory about how dinosaurs traveled was true and it took the wind out of him. It was brilliant.
I enjoyed this when it originally came out at theaters and would love to see it on the big screen again. I’ve always thought a great one to rerelease would be Twister. It had some awesome effects even back then.
Jeesus Christ people, did almost everyone on this comment thread have shitty childhoods or what? This is a great classic being re-released. Stop complaining. This is awesome, especially for JP fans who now have their own kids they want to give nightmares for the next few years.
