EXCLUSIVE: Kimberly Williams-Paisley is poised to make her guest-starring stint on ABC’s new drama Nashville permanent. The According To Jim alumna in August signed on for a multi-episode arc on the soap set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. She ended up appearing in six of the original 13 episodes of the freshman drama, which was recently given a full-season pickup. Now she is set to appear in at least three episodes of Nashville‘s back nine with an option to become a series regular in Season 2 if the show is renewed. Nashville follows one established country star, Rayna James (Connie Britton), whose career is faltering, and one rising one (Hayden Panettiere). On the Lionsgate/ABC Studios series, Williams-Paisley plays Peggy Samper, an old flame and former co-worker of Rayna’s husband Teddy Conrad (Eric Close). The two share a dangerous secret, and photographs of the two together are threatening to derail Teddy’s political campaign. This marks the first major series role for Williams-Paisley, repped by Gersh and KLWGN, since her eight-season run on another ABC show, comedy According To Jim, also produced by ABC Studios. The Nashville gig does not require relocation as the actress, who is married to country music star Brad Paisley, lives in Nashville where the series is filmed.

The producers are already trying to figure out a way to squeeze another season out of the boring Teddy-is-mysterious story? Great.

She sure was and how the hell that show lasted 9 seasons is still a mystery. Glad Nashville got a full season order though.
No offense to her, but so far she’s only been involved in Teddy’s political storyline, which is the weakest part of the show by far, so news that that might be continuing is rather disappointing.
The only storyline in the show that keeps me watching is is Rayna and Deacon and Juliette’s character is amusing. If Rayna and Deacon dont get together I wont be watching any longer.
I loved *According to Jim* but didn’t watch it till the re runs ran. I TRIED watching Nashville,couldn’t get into the first episode,turned it, and haven’t watched since. I love Kimberly Paisely though.

I LOVE Nashville! This show makes me miss the city so much! It’s an amazing look at how the music industry is and what some of my most favorite people in the world have had to go through to get where they are today. If you love and respect country music, you will love this show! And don’t under estimate Kimberly Williams! She is a very talented actress and I’m so excited she is on the show. She means a lot to many special country music fans too….. she is awesome. My favorite actress by far, on my favotire show by far! Go Kim! Love ya! <3
Kimberly is worth watching alone. She is a ridiculously underrated actress, and in my opinion was worthy of waaayy more notable roles than she has had, and that’s saying something because her career is still something to be very proud of. Congratulations Kimberly!! Very proud of you.
I’ve only seen the re -runs of according to Jim here in Liverpool ,England. Up to season eight truely fabulous -season nine disastrous!- why? Simple, no Kimberly Williams Paisely in the last season. The enthusiasm, the in-jokes the fun that a well established cast have together all missing, so sad really. America produces the best sit -coms in the world but you are losing out by under using the great talent of Kimberly Williams Paisely .
Always like her in movies. Glad to hear she got a good gig close to home since she’s a mother of two. I hope to see her in another movie one day! So pretty and good actress.
