Former House executive producer Katie Jacobs has teamed with bestselling Norwegian novelist Jo Nesbo for I Am Victor, a drama at NBC. The project, based on Nesbo’s book, has some of House‘s DNA as it is described as “House as a divorce attorney”. Mark Goffman is writing, with Nesbo, Jacobs and Television 360′s Daniel Rappaport and Meghan Lyvers and Niclas Salomonsson executive producing for Universal TV, the studio behind long-running Fox medical drama House.
Nesbo is one of Europe’s top-selling crime fiction authors, along with such A-listers as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’s Stieg Larsson. Nesbo is best known for his series of novels involving detective Harry Hole that include The Snowman, a Working Title project that has Martin Scorsese and screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan attached. The rights to his latest thriller novel, The Son, sparked a bidding war, landing at Warner Bros last week. Goffman is with UTA and Ziffren; Nesbo and Salomonsson with RWSG.

Jo Nesbo’s is a fantastic story teller with rich characters, a wicked sense of humor and a dark side. This should be a great series…can’t wait!
I agree with you on all counts, exponentially! The man is gifted, to be sure. I love reading, and even listen to audiobooks of books that I’ve usually read before. In this case, I was introduced to Jo Nesbo’s work through audible.com. I talked my husband into giving one a listen and he was hooked after 5 minutes. I want to get them in print or on my Kindle as well to read.
I had to laugh at the previous comments. They haven’t read Nesbo. I question their ability to read, or even listen to a book beyond the “See-Spot-run-Run-Spot-run-level.” In America, suitable names for them would be “Bubba,” “Cleetus,” or “Mert.”
