The front-runners in my book are Wreck-It Ralph, The Lorax, and Madagascar 3. I haven’t seen Rise of the Guardians yet, but from what I’ve been hearing, it isn’t on the same level (from a quality perspective) as the others on my list.
I totally agree. If there are 5 in the category this year, I would also add “Frankenweenie” and “Brave” to the 3 you mentioned. “Rise of the Guardians” and “Paranorman” will miss the boat.
Lorax? not a chance. don’t rule out GKids. my money is on The Painting for at least a nom.
Anyone know why THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY doesn’t qualify?
Arrietty was released in 2011 in Japan, making it ineligible.
That’s not the reason. It’s because it wasn’t released in Los Angeles County
Wasnt that a last year’s title based on the requirements?
I believe nominations will be in order of how I believe they will win:
1. Frankenweenie
2. Wreck-It Ralph
3. Brave
4. Paranorman
5. Rise of the Guardians
For what it’s worth, I give you my own faves:
1. Frankenweenie
2. Pirates! Band of Misfits
3. Brave
4. Paranorman
I’ve also watched The Lorax and Hotel Transylvania, but as enjoyable as they are I don’t think they’re quite good enough to make the cut.
Looking forward to Wreck-it-Ralph to complete my list.
Madagascar is the only worth contender so far (haven’t seen ‘Ralph’ yet).
Lorax, Pirates, Paranorman — all a joke.
My Guesses.
1. Brave
2. ParaNorman
3. Frankenweenie
4. Wreck-It Ralph
5. Rise of the Guardians
