EXCLUSIVE: Paige Davis is leaving Hallmark Channel‘s new daily daytime lifestyle program Home & Family. She is taping her last episode today to air tomorrow. Co-host Mark Steines is staying on, joined by Christina Ferrare until a permanent co-host is found. “After much thought and careful consideration, and after close to three months away from her own home and family, Paige has decided to temporarily return to New York,” Hallmark Channel said in a statement to Deadline. “We deeply appreciate the contribution Paige made to Home & Family and for the warmth and talent she brought to the set each day. Talk show veteran Christina Ferrare will step into the co-host role through the holiday season and will begin appearing on air on Monday, November 19th.”
Along with Marie Osmond’s talk show, Home & Family is part of Hallmark Channel’s new daytime block that launched this fall. The show is modestly rated but I hear it’s doing well financially. Davis is best known for hosting TLC’s staple Trading Spaces. I hear she didn’t feel quite comfortable on Home & Family, and the show’s interview aspect proved challenging for her.

Awwww,that’s a shame. I think Paige is absolutely adorable. I used to love watching Trading Spaces because of her energy & contagious smile. I suppose if she didn’t feel comfortable on Home & Family-it’s best she’s moving on. I wish her only the best on her future endeavors. Keep up the good work Nellie.

Thank God someone is saying it the way it is!!! I watch Home & Family every day and Paige was NOT uncomfortable! In fact I thought she was getting better each day. Yes, in the beginning she would talk over the guests a bit when she would get excited. Though, she has been working on that and I think she was doing great. She made the show, her bubbly personality and you could feel the love in her heart. She is a breath of fresh air. I hadn’t even watched anything on the Hallmark Channel until I knew Paige would be doing this show. She is the reason I watched every day.
I cried yesterday when they gave her a minute to say she wouldn’t be returning. You could tell she was heartbroken. My God I don’t even know this woman and my heart broke for her.
What Hallmark did to her was so wrong indeed!
I would like to write to the President of Hallmark Channel. I wish all Paige Davis fans would do the same. I will do some research and find the address.
If you visit the Hallmark Channel/Home & Family Community Boards they won’t even let you post messages. They say it isn’t to do with anything going on but that they are getting slammed with spammers. OK another LIE. Hallmark Channel should be ashamed.

I bet they will be sorry when the rating fall. I certainly won’t watch. Nothing against Mark or Cristina Ferrare, but what they did to Paige was terrible.
Paige was a breath of fresh air and I really loved to see her and hear what she said. She never appeared to be uncomfortable in front of the camera or with her guests. This is just sad. I love Hallmark, but this has really hurt them in my opinion. I don’t watch the show anymore!!
I do not watch it anymore..Hallmark did nothing great with who they replaced her with..such a disappointment..I really love paige and I thought she did great..I do not even want to watch hallmark anymore who knows who they will ax next..
The only reason I tunned into Home and Family is because of Paige. This stinks! The show will be so boring without her. Mark is nice and a good host, but with Paige being so bubbly it was a perfect match. What a shame! Cristina Ferrare was good on the original show but they need Paige. All the viewers have gotten to love her.
They should bring Paige back! Anyone that watched her say it was her last day know it is not her will to depart from the show. Common the viewers arent stupid.

I wasn’t sure what was going on when Paige started talking on friday. As I watched her final goodbye, I almost cried too. I still can’t believe it. I have watched the show since the first day it aired. I watch mostly Hallmark channel and I liked Home and Family because Paige was so perky and happy. She got me up and going every morning. I hope Paige Davis knows how much most people loved her, even if Hallmark didn’t. First we lost Martha, now Paige. We get to watch all the same christmas shows we watched last year instead of the Waltons, starting after Halloween. Oh boy!

I caught onto the show because of Paige..from Trading Spaces..I do not get her other show from the OWN network in my area..I enjoyed Home and Family because of Paige..I doubt I will tune in now..If she was let go, huge mistake..
I agree with you I have no interest in tuning in without Paige. What Hallmark did was wrong! I don’t believe for a second this was her choice, she seemed truly heartbroken.

Lynn I totally agree with you!! Paiges exit ‘speech’ sounded very much like a spin job. We’ve all heard it and many of us have also experienced first hand how similar type circumstances can be completely spun so the corporation or responsible party can ‘save face’ and not look like the stinkers they truly are.

To me it really doesn’t sound like she was ready to move on by choice. I don’t know Paige either but was totally heartbroken for her and cried along with her and many others as she said goodbye.
Although I love Mark and love the show, I also will not continue to watch Home & Family.

I was so sorry to see Paige is leaving. I really enjoy the show with both her and Mark. She is such a bubbly fun person. If it is her decision to leave, she has to do what is best for her.
She really was the only thing lively or unexpected on that show. The rest is just bland, bland, bland. I expect she was a little too lively for Hallmark. I’ll watch her wherever she turns up, but that show is over.

Paige is also why I watched the show. I agree with you that Cristina is awesome, and I do like Mark. Though, regardless how they handled things with Paige was cruel to her, and the viewers!
Cristina Ferrare is a class act and from what I understand she will be filling in throughout the holiday season. Well, Hallmark you should also bring Paige back ASAP. Have Cristina there as well during the holidays as she is an awesome cook and would have so much to share. Though, bring Paige back NOW.

Obviously, the Home and Family Show is in deep ratings misery to cut the co-host so soon after only two months. It was expected the show would fail – another few months and Hallmark will cut its losses and bring back reruns. Then soon to follow the Marie Show, which started out with 320,000 viewers on Monday, then dropped to 141,000 by Friday, and now??? The trend was the direct opposite for the vibrant Emmy-winning Martha Show.
It was stupidity for Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary of Hallmark to think they could replace the quality lifestyle programming of Martha Stewart Living. No doubt, Hallmark should wisely cut Abbott and Vicary for the failed programming.
Obviously, the Hall family that privately owns and runs Hallmark was un-American and unpatriotic to deny viewers Martha Stewart Living programming that showcased America the Beautiful, the American way of life and a healthy lifestyle.
I agree with you that Martha should not have been cancelled. Hallmark should promptly cut Abbott and Vicary. Regardless, how Paige Davis was treated was cruel. Anyone that watched the show knows she loved being there, she wasn’t uncomfortable. That is a joke! It was horrible how they gave her a minute or so at the end of the show to say it was her last day. I watch the Hallmark Channels more than any channel. Even my children love the movies. I really like watching the Home & Family show when able as I’m not a huge TV person. I didn’t start watching until after this Paige person left but I did watch the segment on U Tube. She was heartbroken, however, it was indicated she had been away from her family for 3 months. That obviously could have been a conflict and a very understandable one. Aside of that everyone, when working closely with co workers, can have indifferences at times. Just a matter of being understanding and learning to work through them. I do agree though that many people do often get the shaft unfairly. Wish her well too but Mark and Christina are good too.

I totally agree, Cristina is a pro and if the boys upstairs really wanted the show to work they would have kept Paige and replaced Mark with Cristina! Now those two would have made a great team! I don’t mean to sound sexist and no offense but I can’t see where Mark fits into the show, there’s not enough “guy type stuff” to appeal to guys. Bring back Paige and let the girls show Hallmark how to get ratings.

Yes, it does and I haven’t even seen Paige say goodbye! It also reminds me of Star Jones on the View. Star said that Barbara and Bill Getty told her that she was leaving and to just make something up, an excuse to leave and they would back her up. Star ok, but Star suprised them and announced it earlier than it was suppose to be and ohhhhh what a surprise to Bawa! She didn’t like that! Go STAR! They wanted her to lie about her leaving that it was on her own, but they fired her! So sorry Paige! They are just mean people in this world that are out for their ownselves and own backside. I tuned in because of Paige. Her candor about her eating problems was heart wrenching–but her honesty so refreshing. I hope OWN (a channel I unfortunately do not receive) will use her well. She’s had some bumpy times and deserves some success. I believe Oprah will use her talents well.
On the same note, I was sad to see Nate Berkus’ show cancelled after a two-year run. I know that he hand Paige at one point were to team up. How much fun that would be. Nate we miss you–maybe Oprah will find a spot on OWN for you as well; maybe you can join Paige on her show on OWN.

I was so happy this morning to see Christina ferrare, I had been a faithful viewer to the show way back when.
Paige just didn’t cut it, she talked all over everybody’s conversations. Have never been happier!!! Do wish the show aired two times like it was. Between two and four o’clock would be great!

Finally, I found a post that shared what I feel. I understand why everyone here has so much love for Paige, but I agree with you that she just didn’t cut it. As you say, she kept talking all over everone and that really annoyed me. She was very enthuthiastic and “bubbly”, but a bit too much for me. I like it with Christina and Mark.
Paige was all me, me, me in every segment for some reason, why I have no idea? She would not listen/follow the guest and blurt out whatever she thought during the interviews at times that made the guest and at home audience feel awkward. I do like her, but she was the wrong fit for the show…it’s about home and family and Paige is a actress/career woman with no children, whom doesn’t cook nor craft and unfortunately that was stacked against her from the get go. Paige is a very happy camper that works better on prompter. A talk show is NOT her forte. It wasn’t a very good fit it’s not personal to her what so ever.
I think that Kristan Cunningham would be a great host with Mark…if Cristina is only there temporarily!
I agree with your comment. It looks like she was trying way to hard to show that she had a great chemistry with the co-host. Actually he and guest sometimes just looked annoyed and I think she did try and make every scene about her. She was also so hyper to the point of annoying. This probably was not her forte but I do wish her well.
Nothing against Cristina Ferrare she will definatley bring a lot to the show. Back in the 90′s she was great. Though, I think there is room also for Paige. Love Christina, have followed her for years. But, I LOVED Paige as well and thought she was a breath of fresh air on Home and Family. She and Mark were like an old married couple just inviting us into their home. Will be nice with Christina, but not the same.
I also would like the show to come on sometime later in the morning or in the afternoon. Not much else on about 1 o’clock except game shows and soaps. I miss most of the show in the current time-slot. Too busy in the early morning.

Mark and Paige were like a married couple inviting you into their home. Cristina Ferrare is great don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to bash her. She is an asset to the show, but as an addition not to replace Paige. Too bad Woody wouldn’t bring Paige back as it is Home & Family and as another person stated the need more “Family members” in the Home & Family house.
Wouldn’t it be great if they could have Nate on like once a week as a special guest!?

I was a personal wish of mine to see “Home and Family” come back to the airwaves. It was also another personal wish of mine to see the old set being used. The final wish was to see familiar faces again and seeing Cristina on the show co hosting was a breath of fresh air! Don’t get me wrong, Paige is wonderful for the show and I do hope, as many here have noted, will be returning in due time. I find though that Christina works well with Mark and I hope that the show gets more ratings over time and not get nixed as the show was back in 1998. I think Hallmark should bring back other shows such as Martha Stewart and others and reduce the amount of “Little House On The Prairie” and “The Waltons”. No offense, those shows get aired a lot on Hallmark’s sister channel, INSP.

I absolutely loved the old Home & Family Show & have been very disappointed in the new show. In my opinion it just lacks something & fails to hold my interest. Nothing against Paige she is a sweet person but never thought she was the right fit for the show as a host. Was not surprised she is gone & very pleased to see Christina again.I have had a strong feeling this show will not be picked up next season but time will tell now?

I am devestated at what hallmark has done to Paige Davis. It must have taken heart-wrenching hours of discussion and mental wrestling for her to make the original move and leave her family to do the show. Nothing against Mark, but it was their chemistry that drew me to the show in the first place. They brought out the best in each other. With them as a team the show was fresh and new and exciting. I never missed a day, even when in hospital. I only watched the first day without her to give it a chance…..WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME, AND WHAT A DOWNER!!!!!!! I will never watch that show again. My love to Paige, and all the best of luck on Broadway…… wouldn’t she make an awesome Peter Pan? Mary Martin was 55 when she wowed the great white way with her performance. Anyway, my high opinion of the hallmark channel is now lower than pond scum.
I watched her on the originally Home and Family for years! I loved Cristina then and even more today. She is definitely experienced at hosting shows and interviewing people! I always enjoy her cooking segments.Saw yesterday’s show and enjoyed today’s even more!! She is definitely an asset to the show.
Well, if Hallmark thought bringing Cristina back would be an improvement over Paige, I bet they are kicking themselves…she is not a good match for Mark…she talks too much, disresptful to Mark as a co-host and already shows she is out of touch with new inovations. Mark and Paige had a better chance of learning together and making the show interesting and fun…Paige was a joy..it showed thru the screen…bad choice Hallmark…I have only been watching…hoping to find out what happend..as I missed Paige’s exit speech, I saw the show – but must have walked away for a second. The reason you missed Paige saying it was her last day, and u only walked away from the television for a second; well that’s about all the time they gave her. It was very sad,and she was tearful. It was obvious it wasn’t her will to leave.
Cristina might have been a great co-host back in the 90′s but not so much now. She is a wonderful cook and I have and love her cookbooks, but as an addition to the show, Not as a replacement for Paige.
As much as I like Christina, I really do like Paige! Paige is why I started watching the show. I like Mark too, but had never heard of him before the show, so Paige reeled me in. Paige is as good as Christina as an interviewer, its just that Christina has done it for longer. Paige brightened the show & gave it “her special” energy, & it was an ADDED PLUS for the show. She just put the show over the top with her personality & smile! Please talk her in to coming back! If its because she misses her husband & family, which I’m sure was true, figure out a way where she can see them very often. I know it’s not yhe same, but maybe it coukd work that way. Especially if she can keep your ratings up where you want them! Obviously, we ALL miss Paige!
