The indie romantic comedy starring Lizzy Caplan and Community‘s Alison Brie and based on Jeffrey Brown’s graphic novels premiered at Sundance this year. It was picked up in May by IFC Films. Save The Date is getting a digital release today on on IFC Films Video on Demand, SundanceNow, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, Google Play, Xbox Zune and PS3 PlayStation Unlimited ahead of its December 14 theatrical bow. Michael Mohan directed, and Martin Starr, Geoffrey Arend and Mark Webber co-star. Here’s an exclusive trailer:

Wake me up when this trailer has finished. I have no idea what this film is about other than some delicious lighting and a cute cut watching a couple do ‘it’ standing up (which is very romantic and a little bit comedic).
Trailer looks like an iMovie slideshow….
as soon as you put the word “indie’ in front of romantic comedy, it becomes a heartwarming drama with some funny parts. And that is fantastic.
But they should show a few funny parts in the trailer, too. The cat gets all the laughs on this cut.
It’s a movie about hipsters finding love but then they find out that no one loves them because being a hispter is dumb. So, they decide that love is “totally not cool” and die alone.
