After being primed to hit $100M globally on Thursday, Skyfall has secured the biggest seven-day gross of all time in the UK. With £37.2M ($59.86M), the film overtook Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2’s first-week gross of £35.7M ($57.4M) to make UK box office history. The 23rd James Bond film opened October 26 and was Britain’s 2D all-time biggest Friday opener and 2D biggest opening weekend. It clobbered previous records set by the two other Daniel Craig/007 movies almost everywhere. It’s also overtaken Ted to become the third-highest-grosser of the year in the UK behind The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers. Skyfall opens in North America on IMAX screens November 8 and goes wide November 9.

Roger Moore played a much better Bond. Craig comes across as a Russian sissy on the big-screen – poor casting.
Clearly in this time of national distress due to storms, droughts and forest fires the one thing this country has plenty of is a-holes who think Roger Moore was the best Bond. Take heart, some day we may need morons like you to plug our subway tunnels in case of flooding.
Clearly you have no idea which country you’re even from.
What are you smoking? Daniel Craig has brought Bond back into the stratosphere. He’s the biggest positive to hit the world of 007 in decades. He’s got swagger, gravitas and plenty of angst. We love him and he will be playing 007 for years to come. Take it from me, Pal, he’s the real deal.
Daniel Craig is incredible in the role. The scene in Casino Royale where he’s naked and getting tortured is incredible. I can’t wait for Skyfall.
That scene is real. was done by spies Ian Fleming knew, and he said it was mild compared to some of the torture was became acquainted with.
Like Craig in everything BUT bond. He is more a proto-typical bad guy than the smooth spy the Bond character has always been. he reminds me of Mr. Stamper and a few other blofeld thugs. Little to no gadgets, very little carousing and just in general NOT BOND. meh, it was good while it lasted. Glad to see others enjoy his “version” but I am not impressed.
Saw Skyfall this Wednesday. Perfect balance between action, acting and beautiful cinematography. The movie looks great! Bardem is great and Craig gives us a tough but vulnerable James Bond. And there are lots of laughs this time. Stop the complaining and hating. Everybody his taste… but this is a well made bond movie incl. the casting.
They marketed this stupid movie like it was the Second Coming of Jesus Christ….
It really is.
This will be the 1st Bond film to gross over $1 Billion, world-wide.
Probably won’t make $1 billion but it will get damn close to it. Really depends on whether it can overcome future competition.
Doubt it, U.S. people don’t like these films.
Three hit films later–count them: three!–it’s hilarious to me that people can still claim Daniel Craig as Bond is “bad casting”. Whether you like it or not, it is demonstrably NOT bad casting. There is empirical proof that casting Daniel Craig was not a bad decision.
Loved Casino Royale, hated Quantum of Solace, this is the make-or-break Daniel Craig Bond for me.
James will not touch Harry’s worldwide gross, which on average makes 1 billion dollars. James only makes 300 million dollars a movie. Harry is more acclaimed, sorry James that you are a hit and miss. Harry still owns the opening weekend record, and I cannot wait to see Skyfall.
Why don’t u count how many times in those old James bond movies, how many times they drowned there guns.and then Roger Moore was so old he couldn’t even run in the last one but Pierce was good,Daniel has is great LOok AT THE MONEY NUMBER’S HIGHEST EVER!!!!!!
I was impressed by Daniel Craig’s performance in “Casino Royale”, but the pacing was off (particularly during the protracted poker sequences). “Quantum of Solace” was an overblown mess.
“Skyfall” was astonishing. It is my favorite Bond movie, period, no matter which actor is playing the role. One of the nice things about it is how the movie doesn’t waste valuable screen time showing Bond cavorting with women who are going to die/disappear anyway or with women who can’t act. I know that various “Bond Girls” have been praised, but the only one who wasn’t saddled with awful dialogue or used as window dressing was Michelle Yeoh prior to this movie.
