Considering that Marvel pays its actors next to nothing, this must be ‘Hawkeye’ Jeremy Renner’s revenge. Too bad this skit isn’t more badass:
Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke - tip her here.

Loved this skit! Hopefully Joss will use this idea in the next Avengers. Jeremy was so great tonight and he can sing…like really well. Please bring him back.
So tired of Agents, managers, publicity and friends trying to sway what we ALL SAW!. He’s a talented actor, but he was AWFUL. First rule of comedy, do not FLUFF the PUNCHLINE!
I thought Renner was brilliant. His opening monologue was incredible, and his singing voice is so beautiful. He displayed charm and sexiness without it being forced. In my opinion, he is the strongest host so far this season. I was really surprised and blown away…good on ya Jeremy!
Really? His opening monologue was “incredible?”
Maybe you should change your handle to ReallyEasilyWowwed.
gawd – that skit was so bad it reminded me of the early 90′s SNL…
The Avengers was boring — almost as unimaginative and simple as SNL.
I almost fell asleep through it. I kept waiting for the movie to start, they talked for 90 mins. I’ve sat through Lawrence of Arabia and Raiders of the Lost Ark the same night, was not even tired getting out at 2 am, but it was Avengers that bored the hell out of me.
“Next to nothing” for dressing up in spandex and acting in front of a blue/green screen ? Yeah that actually sounds about the right amount. The people who should be paid the most for these films are the FX guys who do the real work behind the scenes.
Yeah, and they’re not really getting ‘Paid Next To Nothing’ like this article says. This author must have forgotten that RDJ got paid 50 million for his role in “The Avengers”. And while the other actors get roughly 2-4 million their first movie, that price hikes up with each following film and the better the film performs the more money the actors take in as well. Plus they get a rediculous amount of money from toys, posters, merchandise, etc. so these actors are not seeing any poor houses anytime soon haha. Marvel has just done a brilliant job in locking their actors up for several films each and other studios should take notes, this is how you aviod having to negotiate with actors and risk losing them.
Dont get me wrong guys, I love Jeremy. He’s like my favorite actor, but this SNL just plain sucked. It was all over the place and most of the skits weren’t even funny.
Does next to nothing mean tens of or hundreds of thiousands of dollars? Poor Jeremy, he makes moor than most Americans and was in one of the biggest movies of the year that could set his career up, yes poor Jeremy.
Skit was horrible. Made me miss the early 90′s SNL
Clint and Wowwed must work for Renner’s agent. He was terrible. Such a stiff. He should stick to wordless action.
That was God-awful….
I find it so funny, that people are giving a free pass to Jeremy Renner, but hated on Anne Hathaway. Anne was good, even dealing with horribly written material, plus, very rarely did I see her read the SNL cue cards ( not easy to do ) . Now, last night, Renner was stiff, and he distractedly glued his eyes to the cue cards.
All I have to do is come here and I know what to watch and what to skip. Skipping SNL
I hate that I can’t watch the clip on the site because I’m based in Australia. And people wonder why folks download from 3rd parties ….
Embarrassing. Somebody ‘wrote’ that?
Stand Off was a win. It actually made me half-laugh a few times. That’s more than the show has been able to do in years!
I don’t necessarily expect all comments to come from industry professionals, but this comment from ‘orlando’ quoted below is way overstated. I mean WAY.

I don’t get the negativity had He was charming and showed real musical skill in his monologue. Liked the Mexican Standoff skit…enjoyed a lot of the show. The key is having material to get laughs with. I thought it was overall a fun show.
Jeremy Renner is a douchey ass crybaby. He’s all like ” waaa, my part wasn’t big enough”. Dude, the only reason anyone knows your face is cause some idiot years ago made the mistake of letting you STAR in something! There is nothing special about Jeremy. There’s probably 100 struggling actors out there who are way more charismatic, better acting, and have way more star quality than him. Plus, he looks like a pissed off third grader! Hahahaaa!
