The pilot for Syfy’s proposed Battlestar Galactica prequel series, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, is finally seeing the light of day. The cable network passed on the pilot but committed to airing it as a two-hour movie. That will happen — after Blood & Chrome first runs on the YouTube online channel Machinima Prime as a series of 10-12 minute chapters, debuting on Nov. 9. The Syfy airing will be followed by a Blu-ray/DVD/VOD release. Blood & Chrome is set during the first Cylon war and centers on young William Adama (Luke Pasqualino). The pilot was executive produced by Battlestar Galactica‘s David Eick and written/exec produced by Michael Taylor.TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

They missed an opportunity here – a series of event movies, say 3 a year to run in the Saturday Night movie slot.
What is wrong with that SyFy channel? Why can’t they just air that thing? Like normal channel. Why with all that online nonsense? Wasn’t it bad enough that they didn’t order it to series. Now they can’t even air what is already done.
So stupid. It will have good rating no matter what.
It’s funny how the SyFy execs do everything they can to diminish BSG or otherwise not promote it when it is literally the ONLY quality series that channel has ever been assiociated with. It could have been their MAD MEN but you can tell Mark Stern genuinely disliked the franchise. Shameful.
Nah, for the Syfy Channel Sharkopotamous means more than BSG.
How the hell did the network pass on the pilot?
Battlestar has a huge following.
They have got to be nuts to pass on this one. With the overall quality of their programming currently so far in the basement as to be totally drek, why would they pass ont he opportunity to have such quality programming?
Syfy execs need to be frozen in carbonite, tossed out an airlock, something appropriate to the genre they seem to know nothing about. A new BSG, particularly along the incredible line Blood and Chrome has shown so far, could be the Syfy channel’s answer to The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad. Instead, I guess they’ll be spending their money on the next sequel to Lake Placid — we do need more dinosaur crocodiles after all….
Dear SYFY,
After watching the first six episodes on youtube I conclude that you must be outta your minds not to keep this running best scifi action out there!
don’t forget, you can’t expect much from the same @$$clowns that canceled “Stargate: Universe” i heard it was canceled because the time-slot they picked had too much competition from other channels, and no one at SyFy could figure out how to fix that! the channel has sucked horribly since changing their name. i know what SCI-FI is, but wtf is a SyFy???
why would you not run this as a full series? i literally quit watching network tv after Galactica ended. there was nothing else on worth watching!
Right with ya’ cuz…They wouldn’t know a good series from a mules gonads….
WHAT the frack is wrong with SYFY channels people. WE WANT B&C AS a series even if for only one season….Every time I look forward to some new GOOD Syfy viewing they SCREW IT UP…..
I just watched the entire webisode series, and I’ll watch the full 2 hour pilot when it airs.
Oh my God, I had thrills I haven’t had since Battlestar Galactica (2003). Space battles, battlestars and basestars, vipers, explosions, exotic planets, menacing robots and lots of blood and chrome! What is not to like?
Considering the rest of the cr.. they’re producing for TV, in general, not ordering a full series of Blood & Chrome is beyond me. The pilot is sweet.
